Objective: To secure employment as an Executive Director in a Seniors Community or as a Hotel Manager where I
can utilize my experiences, record of community involvement, warm personality and leadership skills to build a Team
that delivers excellent service while managing costs and driving GOP.

Work History:
1985 - 2004 2008 - 2016 The Yorktowne Hotel, York, PA (member of Historic Hotels of America)
General Manager 2008 - 2016
Hired and Managed 80 Associates to operate a 120 room hotel with 2 Restaurant/bar outlets, and 11
Banquet Rooms. (Total of 11,000 square feet.) The departments included Front Desk, Valet Parking,
Accounting, Personnel, Night Audit, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Sales, Restaurant/Banquet, and Kitchen.
Accomplishments:
Recognized by The Community for maintaining and preserving their Historic Hotel until York could
buy it back from out of town Owners and implement a $20 million dollar renovation plan.
During the downturn of 2008/2009, improved Gross Profit by 10.7% with Revenues down 18.9%.
(We maintained Guest Service Scores at the same high level.)
Brides from The Knot wedding magazine voted a Gold Ribbon award to the venue. (We were the
only property so honored in York County and just 1 of 18 in the edition for our region.)
As a member of The York CVB Board, chaired the Strategic Plan portion entitled Maximize Tourism
Expenditures.
Named General Manager of the Year in 2010.

President 1992 - 2004


Standard General Manager tasks, while executing phase III of renovations. Took on
additional roles in Community Organizations and on their boards.
Accomplishments:
With completion of the Guest Room Rebuilding project, the redecorating of the Public Areas, and
continued improvement to Operations, we fulfilled our Mission Statement - Make York Proud of
The Yorktowne for the hotels 75th anniversary.
As the property prospered, Yorkers showed more and more support for their Community Hotel.
Earned a AAA 4 Diamond Rating for the hotels Fine Dining restaurant.

General Manager 1985 - 1992


General Manager tasks while building a new Management Team and executing phase II of
hotel renovation plan. This phase involved re-building 3 floors of Guest Rooms which doubled the
inventory of larger rooms. Became active in the York Community and made constant contact with both
hotel and local Guests.
Accomplishments:
With phase II of the renovation done, the number of larger rooms was sufficient to interest the local
Business Community and Regional Associations in using the hotel again.
Improved levels of Service and Food Quality for all Guests while especially pleasing Rotarys weekly
luncheon for 225 members.
Named Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Year.
Promoted to President of The Yorktowne in 1992.

Please Note:
I will not return to The Yorktowne Hotel when the, $20 million dollar , multi-year renovation is complete. We
are pursuing new opportunities that bring us close to our grandchildren. We plan to move to the Va.
Beach/Williamsburg area or Fort Myers, FL.
o Our home in York is for Sale. If an opportunity becomes available before the house sells, we will leave
York right away. I am available to start working immediately.
