GIS mapping of the pilot territory of the Smart Waters project: Basin of Lower
Panj
The Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC) announces an open
competition for the task of GIS mapping within the Smart Waters project, financed by
USAID.
Key tasks:
1. Data collection for GIS mapping of the pilot territory using GPS;
2. Processing of the data, satellite images, air-photos, topographical maps of the
project territories (geotagging, calibration, interpolation, classification and etc.);
3. Development of the GIS maps for the basins, which includes following layers:
land use, hydrological data, climate data, environmental data, social and
economic data.

Higher Education.
Experience in the field of geographic information systems.
Good research skills, including analysis and synthesis of the obtained materials;
Skills in writing analytical reports on international projects;
Advanced proficiency in English and national language;
Good organizational, professional and communication skills, ability to work in/with a
team;
Good command with Windows, MS. Office, ArcGIS
Note: The task is open for both individual experts and companies
