    This document provides information about two music therapy and child development workshops hosted by Blue Sky Music Therapy. The first workshop, called "Motivating Melodies", will be on March 17th from 10-11am at Terrace Road School and will discuss how music can engage children and support goals in their Individual Program Plans. The second workshop, called "Play for a Better Brain", will be on the same day from 1-2pm at North Haven School and will explore interactions between caregivers and children and different types of play that support learning and healthy development. Siblings are welcome to attend and transportation is available upon request.

    MOTIVATING MELODIES

    Your child is currently, or will be receiving, music therapy services in EDC
    from Blue Sky Music Therapy (www.blueskymusictherapy.com)

    We will:
    - find out why music is a powerful tool to spark engagement
    - discuss strategies for using music in the home to meet your child's IPP
    goals
    - learn catchy songs to support your child's growth and your family routine

    The period which your child will be receiving music therapy is noted below:
    Jan-March: Terrace Road EDC
    April- June: Coventry Hills EDC and North Haven EDC

    PLAY FOR A BETTER BRAIN

    Friday March 17, 2017 1:00pm-2:00pm
    We will:
    -explore "serve and return" interactions between caregivers and children
    - learn through play while supporting life-long learning
    -discover types of play that help develop healthy, school-ready brains and
    bodies.

    transportation is available upon request
    light snack will be provided
