Open to: Minority students who are rising seniors or college freshmen with a GPA of 3.0, an interest in a
media career and plan to enroll in a four year college or university
When: 8 consecutive weeks (40 hours per week) in the summer until college graduation
What: Students interested in a career in media have the opportunity to intern at a media based company
every summer until their college graduation. Students will be paid by the hour and then will be offered a
matching scholarship for their college. This program gives students a chance to experience the media
world through an internship and to gain mentorship.

New York County DAs Office: Legal Bound High School Summer Internship Program
Open to: Rising high school juniors and seniors who reside in Manhattan or attend school in Manhattan
What: The New York County DAs Office offers a competitive six-week internship for rising Manhattan
juniors and seniors to work alongside members of the DAs Office. There are many trips and lectures for
students to attend as well as a final Mock Trial competition. Interns will receive a $150 weekly stipend.

What: Girls Who Code provides rising high school sophomores and juniors the opportunity to learn skills
in computer science through classes, lectures, demonstrations and hands-on participation in a 7-week
intensive program.

What: The HERlead Fellowship choses 50 girls to participate in a fellowship to gain leadership roles in

What: Students have the opportunity to work at Lehman College helping to protect and improve Wave
Hills woodlands. Students will also take one college level class a week, participate in lectures, projects
and trips. First year interns receive $8/hour and second year interns receive $8.25/hour.

What: Students in the Columbia University Summer Program will take one college level class in their
session. They will also have the opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities in the vicinity of
Columbia and have the chance to participate in a college fair and receive help with the college application
process.

Open to: High school students with an interest in pursuing a Bachelors degree in marine geology,
physical oceanography, atmospheric science, marine biology, marine chemistry/biogeochemistry or
remote sensing/GIS.
What: The Geosciences Program allows interested high school students the opportunity to intern at
University of Marylands Eastern Shore campus for six weeks. Students will have the opportunity to
attend lectures, gain hands-on experience within the sciences and the chance to take a college math class
and a Freshman Seminar. Interns will receive a $500 stipend a week and will be reimbursed for travel.
The program will also provide room and board for interns.

What: The Young Womens Leadership Institute provides high school girls with a one week intensive
residential program working with Barnard faculty, staff, students and alumna. Students take a class and
then participate in workshops, seminars and discussions. The Young Womens Leadership Institute also
provides the Leaders in LeAction program, allowing young women to shadow Barnard alumnae at their
current jobs.

What: The Bridge Program offers a three week residential experience at Sewanee. Students will take
classes either in Mathematics, Science or Astronomy to gain further skills in those subjects to take with
them to college. The program is free for students chosen to attend.

What: The iModules Scholarship provides academic scholarships to students at or those who will be
attending an iModules school. This year, iModules is giving away 15 $1,500 scholarships to those who
win.

What: The Woodland Ecology Research Mentorship gives students interested in the urban environment
and research the opportunity to intern in the ecology field while gaining mentorships, field research

What: The SEI Program gives students the opportunity to work with senior professors at The University
of the South on environmental issues. Students will get the chance to experience the ecosystem in the

What: The AMIGOS program provides students the opportunity to travel across the Americas gaining
experience in leadership. Students will live with a host family as a local and participate in the daily
activities in their new environment. There are opportunities to create activities with children in the area

What: The Central Park Summer Internship provides high school students a paid internship in the
Conservancy department of the park. Interns work five days a week and come together on Fridays for
different projects or trips.

What: Students who believe they are able to think innovatively and problem solve creatively can apply
for an up to $20,000 scholarship for college. Students are asked questions that ask them to think about

What: The IP Video Contest provides students the opportunity to create a video answering an important
question. This years options are:
1. How has a recent patented invention improved the quality of your life?
2. Has anyone in your family or community built a business on a patented invention? If so, how has it
affected you?
3. How has a patented invention created new jobs and new industries in your community?
4. How has a patented invention saved or improved the quality of someones life, enhanced their
education, improved their connectivity, etc.?
Winners in the 13-15 bracket will receive a $5,000 cash prize and winners in the 16-18 bracket will
receive a $5,000 scholarship to an accredited college or university.

What: Students who spend their summer at Choate Rosemary Hall have the opportunity to take classes in
a variety of topics and departments. Each different program allows students to pick and choose what they
would like to study during their time at Choate.

What: Cushing Academy offers five different programs: Prep for Success (ages 12-13, rising 7th and 8th
graders), Studio Art (ages 13-18, rising 8th through 12th graders), College Prep (ages 14-18, rising 9th
through 12th graders), Critical Skills Across the Curriculum (ages 14-18, rising 9th through 12th graders),
and English as a Second Language (ages 14-18, rising 9th through 12th graders). Students will also
participate in a weekly on or off-campus activity with the whole school.

What: Interlochen Arts Camp provides students with the opportunity to work on their artistic skills
including music, visual arts, theatre, and more. Each program offers a variety of opportunities for students
in their chosen field and to be surrounded by other artists both in their age range and older.

What: Grab the Torch provides students with visits and presentations to learn leadership, ethics, and
service skills. Students will participate in lectures, trips, and activities that help to teach these skills and
about the non-profit world. There are 10 spots open for the CT program and 12 spots open for the Maine
