Reflection of the MDT Meeting

I went to the Multi-Disciplinary Team meeting only once this semester (every other time

did not work out for one reason or another) but during that one meeting I learned a lot.

The first thing I learned is that you develop a relationship with the teachers and the

principal and any other members of the team so you can feel comfortable discussing potentially

difficult topics. When you get in, talk to each other about things not related to the meeting. Be

friends.

The second thing I learned is that sometimes you need to add a little humor to the

meeting while not taking lightly the needs of the students and the issues that need to be

addressed.

Also, you need to have an agenda to follow and make sure you know what all that needs

to be addressed and make sure it is addressed. One thing I would have changed about the agenda

is that I would have left more room next to each student and topic so that I could make more

notes and not feel so cramped.
