I will be doing weekly meeting for the first ten weeks of the school year and then monthly

meetings to check up and deal with any issues as a team.


Week 1: Welcome (may be split up into two days the first week.
Why are you here? What are you hoping to gain from working here What are you hoping to
give? How are you/what do you want us to know about you? What are the classroom rules and
procedures.
Week 2: Team Building
This day will be focused on building trust and unity as a team in the classroom.
Week 3: FERPA/FAPE
What it is, how to follow it, consequences for violation of these two.
Week 4: Roles
The roles for individuals and the group are explained and outlined. The role as teacher is clearly
defined and reasons for the roles being clearly defined are explained.
Week 5: Disciple
Paraeducators are taught how to discipline students and what is/is not allowed while disciplining.
Week 6: Emergencies
What are their jobs when we are faced with an emergency (a shooting, a fire, a chemical spill,
etc.) Create a classroom plan together.
Week 7: Resolving Conflicts
How do we resolve conflicts between: student to student, student to staff, and staff to staff.
Week 8: Stress
We will learn how to handle stress at work and how to leave work at work once they leave.
Week 9: Ideas for improvement
This is a special meeting where paras can discuss with me their ideas on improving the function
of the classroom.
Week 10: Recap on what has been discussed.
Go over once again items that everyone needs to be refreshed on.
