Goal: To count from one on to ten. K.CC.A.1. Count to 100 by ones and by tens. Instructional input: Teacher will read Ten Little Monkeys and with each page/number, students will put a monkey on their board. In between each number the students will count, starting at one, to the last number they have with their finger touching each one while they count.
Materials: Ten Little Monkeys book, monkey
manipulatives, cookie sheet or ten frame Checking for understanding: Does each student count starting at one? Closure: How many monkeys are there in all? Differentiation: Some monkeys have numerals on them, and some do not.
