RESEARCH TITLE: The major factors affecting the result of

HUCFL first year students of English major in speaking exam.

INTRODUCTION:
A professional English learner needs to master four skills
including listening, speaking, reading and writing. Of these four
skills, speaking is considered as a vital foundation for other
skills.However, being good at speaking is a challenge for most
students in learning English. For first year students of English
major at Hue University of Foreign Languages, they often find it
hard to achieve good mark in speaking exam because they are
required to be professional at pronounciation, intonation,
developing ideas,etc. Most of them are not used to new English
speaking methods at university. In addition, to the
pressure,stresses in speaking exam students also cause
difficulties in speaking English fluently. Thats why we decide to
do our research. This research will focus on these questions
below:
1. Why are most of the HUCFL second year students of
English major not sastified with their results in speaking
exam?
(Why do most of the HUCFL first year students of English
major often have difficulties in speaking English?)
2. What are the main factors affecting their results in
speaking exam?
3. How can they do to improve their results in speaking
exam?
