Clearing on the Fabrication site

Mike is a Fabrication-In-Charge in a new construction company, the owner of


a company is one of the major stake holder in a big construction company, the
owner break a ties to the company he had a share, he do that in order to build its
own company. The one of the share he get after it ties it connection to the company
is the formworks department he demand to get the formworks department of the
company he ties. He buy a lot to build a company office and he put the formworks
material on that lot, because of that the goods and repair material is mix on that lot,
so the owner had a dilemma on how he fix that problem and to make the production
faster on the formworks department. His department is responsible to supply the
formworks material on the construction project that the company had. His
department head assign him to make a plan regarding on that problem and to
maximized the time efficiency of the sub-contractor who repair and fabricate the
material, in order to caught up to the demand of material on the project site, and to
avoid the problem regarding of cheating of labourer on the sub-contractor who is on
the contract of Pakyawan, that who repair a material that didnt need to repair
and to clear the path that goes inside to the fabrication site/building. One of the
major big problem that the entrance and exit block by the material that are need to
repair, paint and the good material to the fabrication site.

Analytical Problem Solving

PROBLEM: The slowing of production, untidy and no segregation of material on the


fabrication site.

OBJECTIVES: To increase the production of material and to have a properly


segregation of each material.

PROJECT STEPS:

At day one, do the meeting on the sub-contractor owner and the


labourer, that we dont have a night shift on the repair and fabricating
material, in order to avoid cheating of labourer, who repairs a material
that does not need to repair. Ask the sub-contractor owner to increase
their manpower. And reprimand the labourer that if they get a material
on the X1, X2 and X3 they need to transmit the material, fast as they
can, so the material cannot block the pathway. And also ask the
At day one, present a request to the department head to add a tower
crane at the X1 in order to reach the material that comes from the X1.
Also suggest to the head that we need to have a three group of admin
which is for clearing, for the segregation of material at the X1, X2 and
X3 and for the transportation of finish goods to the central warehouse.
At 1st week create a policy, then submit the policy to the company
owner and if the owner approved it then present the policy to the
Project Manager (PM) on the project that all material that comes from
the project site must be segregate already, in order to increase the
production and in order the fabrication site become tidy.
At 1st week create a future site plan which has a properly
designation/place area of the material, that comes from the site and
the goods material that already go to the central warehouse.
At 1st 2nd week segregate first the A and H-frame for repair and goods
area. Then if they get a good item then they immediately transfer it to
the central warehouse. In order to have a large space for entrance.
At 3rd week they need to clear the area at X3, in order to put the new
tower crane at X3.
At 4th 15th week they need to segregate the material at X1 and X3.
And need to transfer the goods materials that get on the X1 and X3.

RISK OF THE PLAN:

The plan needs a more cost because we need to add a more


manpower and more machines that help to clear the area.
