This document will explain how to print CLOB type comments on a Crystal Report. These are the
comments that are created using the File / Comment option that is available in most X3 functions.
The following steps show the process of printing comments (that are stored as CLOB data types in the
ACLOB table) on a Crystal Report. In this example comments associated with the TABCOUNTRY will be
used. The same logic is used to print comments associated with other tables such as the
BPCUSTOMER, ITMMASTER, or SORDER tables.
Crystal Reports - Add the ACLOB table
In Crystal Reports, open the TABCOUNTRY report.
Click on Database Expert, Link tab and add the ACLOB table.

Click the Links tab and link the TABCOUNTRY table using its CRY (Country) field to the IDENT1 field on
the ACLOB table.
NOTE: the IDENT1 field on the ACLOB table holds the key value of the table. The CODBLB field on
ACLOB designates the object to which the key value is related (e.g., CODBLB = CO_ITM is for the
ITMMASTER (ITM) object.) You may need to add a selection to your report for a specific CDOBLB if the
key value is the same for other objects.
