S K E L E TA L M U S C L E C E L L

Function (main) :
- Relaxing and Contracting the muscle in order to
support skeleton to move
Location :
- Muscle that attract to the bone by tendon
STUCTURE :
Fesicle

CHARACTERISTICS & FUNCTIONS
NAME OF ORGANELLE
MUSCLE CELL OTHER ORGANISMAL CELLS

SARCOPLASM CYTOPLASM

SARCOPLASMIC RECTICULUM SMOOTH ENDOPLASMIC RECTICULUM

SACROSOME MITOCHONDRIA

SARCOLEMMA CELL MEMBRANE

NUCLEI

Stores genetic information

There are many nuclei ( nucleus ) in skeletal muscle cell.

no ribosome is produced

locates near to the sacrolemma.

SARCOLEMMA
CELL MEMBRANE

Made up of phospholipid bilayer

Tubular shape

Forming T - tubules

Covered with a thin layer consisted of collagen

Each ends are connected to tendon

T- T U B U L E ( T R A N S V E R S E T U B U L E )

Inward folding sarcolemma

locates on myofilament bundle

Consist of many protein channels

Transport calcium ions

SARCOPLASMIC RETICULUM
SMOOTH ENDROPLASMIC REDICULUM

To store and release calcium ions

Sent Calcium to T - tubules

It is located inside the muscle cell

SACROSOME
MITOCHINDRIA

High concentration of quantity

Produce ATP for muscle cell movement

same as general cells mitochondria

MYOFILAMENTS

There are three types of myofilaments that made up of protein molecule:

Thick filaments, composed of myosin.

Thin filaments are composed actin.

Elastic filaments are composed of, a large springy titin.

EXCLUDED ORGANELLES

Ribosome

Rough Endoplasmic reticulum

Lysosome

Golgi Body
CONTRACTING & RELAXING
CONTRACTING & RELAXING

Sacromere control movement of skeletal muscle cell ..

( sarcomere located in Myofibril. )

One Sarcomere take place between two Z-lines.

Inside sarcomere, there are 3 important protein, which are Myosin, Actin
and Titin.

DISEASES
OF MUSCLE CELL
DISEASE AND SYMPTOM

Atrophy ( ) Cramps () :

Cause : dying of nerve cell Cause : extreme exercise

that cant send signal to muscle. stuck in one position for a long time

Symptom : Patient wont be able Cure : Drink a lot of water

to move their muscle stretching every time before exercise

Cure : avoid contact dengerous radiation and insecticide get enough vitamins and minerals
