1 - DEVICE DESCRIPTION
SAR plusCOM is provided installed inside the car operation panel. The only wiring
operation to be done is connect it with the patch cords that come from the inspection
box.
The device includes a microphone, a speaker for the communication, two service lights
(yellow and green) and an integrated alarm push button.

The audio from Remote connector is always ON, regardless of the position of
these switches.
These selectors are only used in multi-SAR mode. If only one device is connected to the
line, must remain on OFF.
The selection of cabin allows multiple devices to share a single telephone line. This
requires to number the lifts from 1 to 4 correspondingly. The cabin number 1 will serve
all incoming calls and manage the diversion of the call to the rest of lifts.
Likewise, if one car needs to make a call, it will notice to the rest of lifts to keep clear the
line.

3 - INSTALLATION TEST
An analogue telephone line is operative on the end terminals of the SAR plusCOM J8
connector (50VDC approximately)
The under-car alarm push button is placed and wired
The machine room intercom is installed and connected (if included)
SAR plusCOM DL1 led (red) is flashing Hidra bus is active
If the End of alarm contact is closed (J6-4/J6-6) a repetitive beep is heard through the
speaker
From this moment and until the communication ends (hang up), any parameter of the
equipment can be checked out or modified.
Command SAR plusCOM New TEL1 SAR plusCOM Repeat SAR plusCOM
TEL1
2 1 # <DIAL> 9 .. 2 # <REPEAT> 9 ... 2 # <VALID>
Prior to checking out any stored parameter, CAM code must have been entered during the
same call. If communication has been lost and re-established, CAM code should be entered
again.
On some fixed telephone lines, the side of the line that has received the call remains engaged
until the calling phone hangs up or a minute has passed. To avoid this situation, SAR
plusCOM will hang up by end of conversation time or when it receives a signal from the
telephone company one minute later
With the controller under inspection, press the alarm push button of the car operation
panel.
Check that keeping it pressed, the yellow light remains lit up. A few seconds later, the
green light starts to flash and you hear through the car speaker the message Calling,
please wait meaning that the call is in progress.
The call made by the SAR plusCOM will be received on the telephone number configured
in Step ONE.
After picking up the telephone to answer the alarm, press 0 within 15 seconds
approximately, the green light remains fixed and the conversation can take place
between the car and the telephone.
To finish the communication from the telephone, the command 0 # has to be sent to
the SAR PLUSCOM.
Repeat Step THREE making a call from the alarm button inside the inspection box (yellow
button).
Repeat Step THREE making a call from the alarm button installed under the car (yellow
button).
Once the test is completed, the definitive values that will determine SAR plusCOM
operation have to be configured: car voice synthesizer activation, rings before picking up,
type of dialling, test call, etc.
This configuration may be carried out manually or automatically via the SARlink software.
To configure manually the device for fulfilling the EN81-28:2003 standard follow the
following steps:
If there are not 4 available alarm phone numbers, it is advisable to repeat them so every
parameter from 21 to 24 is configured.
The roof & under-car alarm phone number (parameter 25) is designed to be configured with
the telephone number of the maintenance company.
If there are not 2 available test phone numbers, it is advisable to configure the same number
in both parameters (26 & 27).
For compliance with EN81-28, the Wait For End of Alarm mode must be configured to 1 and
the next test call at 3 days maximum (with SARLINK)
If the configuration is carried out via a phone call (not the intercom), just before 3 minutes of
communication, SAR plusCOM device generates some beeps meaning that the
communication time limit is approaching. Press 0 on the phone keypad to extend to another
3 minutes. This process should be carried out every 3 minutes (parameter 35).

Program the parameters of the previous table with the values written down,
following the procedure used to program the test telephone number
It is recommended to verify the CAM code if the default CAM code has been modified. A
mistake during the changing process may leave the SAR plusCOM device inaccessible for
further actions. To check out the CAM code:
If the value indicated is not correct, re-program parameter 5 and check out its value
again.
SAR plusCOM device includes a complete set of parameters that fulfils the operation
configuration. Its default values are considered valid for most situations. For further
information, refer to SAR plusCOM installation manual.
At the end of this document all manual commands are shown. These parameters may be
used to make the final adjustments to the equipment operation to suit the requirements of the
maintaining company. More detailed information is explained in the k SAR plusCOM
installation manual.

The volume of synthesis, cabin speaker and microphone parameters can be adjusted
through the menu (parameters 47, 48 and 49). We have abolished potentiometers
adjustment of the SAR device by a digital audio processing.
The user has 10 different volume levels for microphone, speaker and synthesis:

8 Gain -1dB
7 Gain -2dB
6 Gain -3dB
5 Gain -4dB
4 Gain -5dB
3 Gain -6dB
2 Gain -7dB
1 Gain -8dB
0 Gain -9dB
The night volume (adjustable through SARLINK) will fade 10dB the value adjusted in the
parameter 49.
Besides its capabilities as alarm equipment and transmission device, SAR plusCOM also
acts as data registration equipment.
To achieve this, it includes a log record in which it stores the data relating to the alarm
process and the data received from the Hidra controller, adding date and time
information. These records, up to 38 items, are encoded according to the EN-627
standard criterion, and allow monitoring relevant events, incidents or breakdowns
occurring in the lift.
Events or breakdowns in the lift are shown in the EN-627 code table shown in the
documentation provided with the HIDRAsystem controller.
Similarly, the events relating to the SAR plusCOM equipment are also recorded. Their
meaning is indicated in the following table:
The log record may be transferred to a PC with SARLink. The nine most recent records
may be looked up manually (without the date or time information) calling with a phone
handset or with the intercom handset. Prior to consulting them, CAT protection code
must be entered.
