Fashion spread for teenage life style magazine

Theme:
Music Festival, I am choosing this theme because lots of different outfits can be
created through this. Also, lots of different hair and makeup styles can be
created which will bring the outfits more together.

Model:
For this I will only be using one model for all the photos which will be getting
used.

Locations:
As festivals are outside I will be using similar locations for example; big fields to
show that the model is in a festival atmosphere.

Outfits:
1:

Hair
For the first hairstyle I will have the models hair curly with a flower crown
as it will match the hippie outfit.

Makeup
The models make up will be natural however I will use white face paint or
another colour to create little dots above her brow bone.

Outfit
I will have the model wearing blue denim shorts and a white crop top or
body suit. That way the flower crown will stand out a lot more on the
model.

2:

Hair
I will have the model have two space buns in her hair.

Makeup
The models makeup will be natural again however I will make the model
wear a dark lipstick which matches the dress he will be wearing.

Outfit
I will have the model wearing an oversized t-shirt dress and wellies on. I
will pair this with some sun glasses as it will go with the festival theme.

3:
Hair
The model will have French plaits in her hair.

Makeup
The model will be wearing over the top make up with face paint on the
side of her cheek.

Outfit
A crop top and shorts with a rain mac over the top paired with wellies.
4:

Hair
I will have the model with curly hair with two French plaits turning into
space buns as this is a popular hairstyle used in festivals.

Makeup
I will have the model wear less make up and have a more natural look
than the other photos.

Outfit
I will have the model wearing high waisted shorts and a plain top as then I
will match the model with wellies like in all the other outfits.

Props:
The items listed will be possible props which would be helpful for the photo
shoots;

Bubble blower
Red plastic cup
Sun glasses
Tickets
Flower crown
Mobile

Equipment required:
DSLR camera
Tripod
Battery
Lighting

Schedule:
1st March however this is subject to change.

Contingency plans:
For this shoot I will make sure I have back up models if my main model
cannot make the shoot or something happens to her.
I will make sure I have a spare battery for the camera or that it is fully
charged before I go and do my photos.
I will have spare clothes with me just in case anything happens to any of
the outfits during the shoot.

Legal:
Copyrights (copyright design and patent act 1988)
The Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, is the current UK copyright law. It
gives the creators of literary, dramatic, musical and artistic works the right to
control the ways in which their material may be used. The rights cover:
Broadcast and public performance, copying, adapting, issuing, renting and
lending copies to the public. In many cases, the creator will also have the right to
be identified as the author and to object to distortions of his work.
The penalties if this is broken the law a is civil so the police cannot get involved
however the person can sue. This process will be done through court and they
can earn money back from it.

This applies to the fashion spread as I will have to make sure I do not use anyone
elses festival fashion spreads. Also, as all these photos will be mine no one else
will be able to use them however before it becomes my work I will have to get
permission of the model for me to use their photos.

Equality (act 2010)

The Equality Act became law in October, 2010. It replaced previous legislation
(such as the Race Relations Act 1976 and the Disability Discrimination Act 1995)
and ensures consistency in what employers and employees need to do to make
their workplaces a fair environment and comply with the law.
Breaking this means you can get arrested which could result in a jail sentence or
a fine.

Trying the fashion spread I will make sure that none of the photos will contain or
imply anything which could possibly discriminate against a certain social class.

Obscene publication (act 1959 & 1964)

The law makes it an offence to publish, whether for gain or not, any content
whose effect will tend to "deprave and corrupt" those likely to read, see or hear
the matter contained or embodied in it. This could include images of extreme
sexual activity such as bestiality, necrophilia, rape or torture.
Any content which is shared will be removed or block so people cannot see this.
This can result in jail sentences for posting the content or fines.

This applies because I will make sure that the images are suitable to be
published and will not cause any harm or corrupt anyone who may stumble upon
them.

Defamation (act 2013)

The Act codifies and consolidates large parts of existing case law and statute,
specifically in relation to the defences of justification (now truth), journalistic
qualified privilege (now publication on a matter of public interest) and fair
comment (now honest opinion). The latter two defences have been modified
and are not mere codifications. Amongst other provisions, the Act establishes (or
codifies) a serious harm threshold for bringing a defamation claim and
introduces a single publication rule (potentially of great significance to online
publication). Libel is when the offense is written down for example; newspaper.
Slander is when the offence is spoken and can ruin someone career. This is a civil
law which means no police can get involved with this however you can go to
court and sue so you can claim money back.

As the photos will be used as a fashion spread I will make sure that libel action
isnt taking place as anything which may be written to go along with the picture
maybe ruin the content or someones career.

Intellectual Property Rights

Having the right type of intellectual property protection helps you to stop people
stealing or copying:
The names of your products or brands
Your inventions
The design or look of your products
Things you write, make or produce
Copyright, patents, designs and trademarks are all types of intellectual property
protection. You get some types of protection automatically; others you have to
apply for. This isnt a civil which means you can be arrested for breaking this law.

In the photos I will make sure I dont use any brand logos as then it may come
across as Im promoting the brand which I will not have permission to do so. If I
do use branding I will make sure to give credit to the company.
Trespass to Property Act
A judgment for damages under subsection, extinguishes the right of the person
in whose favour the judgment is made to bring a civil action for damages against
the person convicted arising out of the same facts. In this Act, occupier
includes,
(a) a person who is in physical possession of premises, or
(b) a person who has responsibility for and control over the condition of premises
or the activities there carried on, or control over persons allowed to enter the
premises,
even if there is more than one occupier of the same premises;

As I will be taking the photos outside I will have to make sure that any locations I
use I will be allowed on the site or it is a public place where anyone can go on. If I
do want to use a site which isnt a public space I will make sure I get permission
to be on the site.

Privacy Act
The right to privacy protects you against unnecessary and heavy-handed state
surveillance and intrusion into your personal life. The right to privacy can only be
limited by law when it is necessary to do so in a democratic society for reasons
such as national security, public safety, the prevention of crime or protection of
the rights and freedoms of others. Any limitation on this right must be
proportionate.
As this act isnt a civil act it means you can be arrested or fined for breaking this
act.

While posting the fashion spreads I will make sure I do not post any personal
information of the model such as; number or email address. This means the
model release form not being printed out and sent anywhere.
