Day 1 Colossians 4:1-4 Pauls Challenge to Prayer

1.(a) What are masters/employers commanded to do in Verse 1?

3.APPLICATION

your employees as people, not machines? Do you pay fair wages and
them justly? If no, how may you conduct your life in a manner that you
stay faithful to the Lords command in the treatment of those whom you
employ.

(b) How can you minister to Gods servants, missionaries, pastors and co-
workers in your ministry? Start praying for them weekly.

Day 2 Colossians 4:5-6 Pauls Challenge to be Fruitful Part 1

1.(a) Paul challenged the Colossians to live wisely, and to conduct themselves
with wisdom and understanding toward outsiders. Who are the outsiders
that Paul referred to in Verse 5?

(b) What does the Bible say about those who are wise and understanding
toward others? Please refer to the following Bible Verses:

(c) Paul said that they should make the most of every
opportunity when they meet unbelievers. What are these

1. (a) What does it mean when Paul said that the speech of the
Colossian believers should be with grace as though seasoned
with salt in Verse 6?

2. (a) Who did Jesus refer to as the salt of the earth in Matthew

(b) What happens to salt when it loses its flavor? How is this
similar to believers when they fail to represent Christ in the

Day 4 - Colossians 4:7-14 - Pauls Co-Workers in Christ - Part 1

1. (a) Who is Tychicus in Verse 7?

(b) Why did Paul send Tychicus to the Colossian believers in


Verses 7 and 8?
(c) What did Tychicus do to serve the church, the body of Christ?

2. (a) Who is Onesimus in Verse 9?

(b) Why did Paul send Onesimus to the Colossian brothers?

Background - Philemon was a believer in Colosse who, along with other


Christians, was a slave owner. One of his slaves, Onesimus, had
apparently stolen form him and then ran away, which under Roman
law was punishable by death. But Onesimus met Paul and through his
ministry became a Christian. Now he is willing to return to his master.
Paul wrote the Letter to Philemon from prison and sent it to Colosse
with Onesimus and Tychicus. He makes an appeal to ask Philemon to
accept Onesimus as a Christian brother, not as a slave. Now that
Onesimus (whose name means useful) was a believer, he was really
useful in helping Paul advance the purpose of the Gospel.

4. APPLICATION

(a) Paul encountered Tychicus, Onesimus, and Aristarchus in his


missionary journeys and while he was in prison. He taught and
helped them know Christ and His Word.

When and how did you receive Christ in your heart?

Who did God use to share the Gospel to you?

Who is your Paul (mentor) now helping you grow in your Christian
life? If none, what will you do about it?

(b) After their conversion, the Colossian brothers helped Paul in


his missionary work. How can you help those who have brought
the Good News to you in order for them to continue in their
mission?
