From the
Every week, it seems, there are new and exciting
events in the Honors Center, and more students
studying, socializing, or enjoying the free coffee
and free printing! It's been a real pleasure to
watch this year as Core Campus has truly become
the heart of the Honors College.

Last week, though, there were a couple of disturb-

ing events. First, a student lost an Eno hammock--
it seems that someone removed it from a bag she
left unattended for a few minutes. The same day,
a student found an offensive and sexist diagram
drawn on one of the study room windows.

The Honors Center functions as a kind of living

room for every Honors student, and it's essential
that the space be safe and secure for all. So
please be sure to:
show respect for everyone, in what you write
and say and how you act;
report any suspicious or obnoxious activity to
the Honors staff, the RA desk, or campus po-
lice, as appropriate;
don't let others into the building unless you
know they're authorized to be there; and
keep an eye on your belongings

I know last week's events were not typical, and

we want to keep it that way, so that everyone can
take advantage of Honors Center space!

Thanks, and -- since this is the last newsletter be-

fore break -- I hope all of you have a restful and
happy week off. If you are leaving campus, safe
travels!
