Standard for these activities: S7L2. Obtain, evaluate, and

communicate information to describe how cell structures,
cells, tissues, organs, and organ systems interact to maintain
the basic needs of organisms.

These activities are for a 7th grade classroom. They will be over
cells and cell structures. As well as an activity that has to do
with organs. These activities would be good for a reminder of
which organs are where in the body. The cell structures one
would be good for learning what certain organelles do.

With this activity, teachers will introduce cells

and cell structures by clicking on the little
globe by cell structures in order to be sent to
Brain Pop! the web page that the brain pop activity is
on.

My plan for this activity is to go over the parts of the animal cell and then hide the
diagram that shows all of the parts. I will hide the labeled diagram by pulling the
screen down from the top till it covers it. I will then have my students come up to the
board and fill in the diagram using the pen to write what each organelle is.

With this activity, students

will drag the cell structure to
Nucleus
Chloroplast Cell Wall the appropriate container.
The correct answers will
disappear in the container.
Vacuoles Mitochondria If they are incorrect they will
bounce back out.
Lysosome Ribosomes Nucleolus

Cytoplasm Chromosomes

Endoplasmic Reticulum Cell Membrane

Nucleus Control center or "brain" of the cell.

Mitochondria The powerhouse of the cell.

Chloroplast Produces food for plant cell by

photosynthesis.

Vacuole Stores food, waste, water, minerals

Ribosomes Makes protein in the cell.

Golgi Body Flat curved sacs used for

storing and packaging.

Endoplasmic Reticulum Folded membrane

that act as a road in the cell transporting
substances.

Lysosome A sac in the cell that has digestive

enzymes that can break down cell waste.

Chromosomes Located in the nucleus and

is made of DNA. Contains genes that code for
various traits.

For this activity my students will be asked if they know the definition of these organelles.
After they have given me a guess as to what the definition is, I will slide the term over to the
other side to reveal the definition.

With this activity students will

come up and guess what each
Esophagus organ is. Then they will use the

answer.
