1 INTRODUCTION

This specification covers the minimum technical requirements for the design, engineering,

material procurement, fabrication, inspection, transportation, site erection, testing,

commissioning and performance guarantee of a Sales Gas Filtration System (SGFS) for the
new Cement Plant of Yamama Cement Company Ltd. This filtration system shall be installed
in the Yamama Gas Metering Station.

1.1 Yamama Gas Metering Station Facilities

Yamama Gas Metering Station is composed of 20 main supply pipeline from Saudi
Aramco, EIV, Filtration System, Metering System, Gas Heating and Pressure Reducing

Stations. The Filtration System shall be designed to remove particles greater than 1
micron from the sales gas stream.

1.2 Sales Gas Filtration System

The Yamama sales gas filtration facilities are required to remove the black powder from
sales gas delivered to YNP.

The Filtration System shall be designed as FILTER-SEPARATOR type. It is suggested

that the VENDORs design shall utilize a two-stage filtration system: The first stage can be
cyclonic to remove particles eight (8) microns and larger and the second stage can be
cartridge filtration to remove particles one (1) micron and larger. The frequency of

and testing of the new gas filtration system for which this specification is
applicable.

1.4 Conflicts and Deviations

1.4.1 If any inconsistency or conflict exists between this specification, and other project
or SAUDI ARAMCO Engineering Standards, SAUDI ARAMCO Material System
Specifications, industry standards or drawings, the inconsistency shall be brought

to the attention of COMPANY Representative for resolution at the time of


submitting a quotation. The deviations and/or clarifications shall be clearly and

specifically stated in the quotation under a separate heading of Deviations and


Clarifications with the comprehensive reasons and supporting information. The
implied or hidden deviations shall not be acceptable. The deviations that sacrifice
the safety or reliability of the equipment shall not be acceptable.

1.4.2 If CONTRACTOR fails to submit Deviations and Clarifications to the COMPANY


with his proposal (including any deviations and clarifications from VENDOR),
CONTRACTORs bid shall be regarded as No deviations or clarifications to this
specification.

1.4.3 CONTRACTOR may propose alternative equipment from SAUDI ARAMCO


qualified and approved VENDORS, which shall meet the performance

4 OPERATION & CONTROL REQUIREMENTS

The SGFS shall be designed for unattended operation when filtering the sales gas in
automatic mode and manned operation after switching from inline to offline for cleaning &
maintenance. YNP CCR shall receive status and alarm data from the SGFS XXX-PLC-
