Step 1: Login to epm-dev1-essbase-d1 through putty and go to

HYPERION_HOME/common/ODBC-64/Merant/7.0
Step 2 : open the odbc.ini file using a text editor on the server
Step 3: Below [ODBC Data Sources] you should see a list of connections, add the
connection in the below format:
<Data Source Name> = DataDirect 7.0 Oracle Wire Protocol

Below mentioned is the sample of ORACLE DATA SOURCE from the DEV environment

Step 4: Copy the ORACLE DATA SOURCE to text editor and modify the below
highlighted values with the information provided by the Admin team, keeping
other values intact. Copy them to the ODBC.ini file and save the file.

[Data Source Name]

HostName=<ORACLE SERVER NAME>
LogonID=<SCHEMA NAME>
Password=<SCHEMA PASSWORD>
SID=<SID>

Step 5: Restart the essbase services, the connection should be visible in EAS
with the name provided in the <Data Source Name>
