Obeisance be to the Supreme Chit-Consciousness-which, of the nature of bliss, is the cause of the
universe and which manifests splendidly like a wonderful mirror reflecting with a wondrous
universe.

How indiscreete people are They think they are happy even when their mind is assailed by a
thousand longings. The sovereign as well as the mendicant all the time strive to be happy.
Somehow, they think that their desires have been fille dand so, that they are happy. In the same way,
as all others do, I also keep following, like a blind following another blind person. I have not
reflected upon the merit of such course of action. Enough of this 'wisdom.' Let me goo to the
compassionate seer, seek to know the 'knowable,' -the Reality-cross over the ocean of samsara, by
using the boat of his auspicious counsel.

There is only one efficacious means, superior to all others. That is the attainment of grace of the
great Goddess who is manifest in all the hearts.

Association with the wise -Sat-sangha is the most essential means for the attainment of supreme
good.

Hermachuda, by chance, happened to seek shelter in the hermitage of an ascetic, which was
beautiful and filled with plantain and other fruit-bearing trees.

The lot of tiny creatures is better, since they have desires in the least measure.

A brahmacharya should do useful work, and the earnings he obtains should be given away as
dakshina ("fee," "gift of thanks") to the guru.

Where elders are respectfully honoured, there prosperity prevails; and where elders - father and
mother, grandfather and grandmother, uncles and aunts - are treated with contempt, with harshness,
with scant respect, there is no prosperity.

Secondly, where the women of the house are treated with reverence, where they are put upon the
pedestal which they deserve, there is prosperity. Where are we all, where is humanity if it is not for
the women ? It is the Supreme Mother who is the very source of the whole universe, and where the
mothers, the women, are treated with reverence that is due to them, in that house, there is prosperity

A Vedic declaration says: 'Where women are worshipped, there indeed, the gods dance with joy'.

Where God is, all auspiciousness, all blessedness, all prosperity is there as a matter of course - just
as luminosity is there, radiance is there, where there is light.
