SECTION 11
MISCELLANEOUS WORKS

11.1 INSTRUMENTATION

11.1.1 Scope of Works


The Contactor shall provide the following instrument and survey reference points, and installed as
shown on the Drawings or as directed by the Engineer.

Automatic water level recorder (AWLR) : one (1) set


Enamel coated aluminum staff gauge : one (1) set
- 50cm wide for the weir : two (2) set
- 12cm wide for the headrace canal : two (2) sets
Rainfall recorder (manual type) : one (1) set

The Contractor is fully responsible for all installation, accuracy, monitoring and maintenance of these
instrument and survey points during the construction period.
The Contractor shall submit the drawings and method of installation for each item to the Engineer for
his approval at least thirty (30) days before the installation.

11.1.2 Documents and Drawings


Within ninety (90) days after the receipt of the Notice to Proceed, the Contractor shall submit to the
Engineer for his approval full details of all instruments to be supplied and installed under the items of
the Contract.
The proposed location of each instrument is shown on the Drawings or directed by the Engineer. The
Drawing and specifications described hereunder do not present exact details of all items of
instrument required for complete installation, but only give the names, number of equipment and the
position in which they are to be placed.
The Contractor shall install all measuring instrument in accordance with the procedure instructed by
the manufacturers and the requirements of the specifications, with approval of the Engineer.

11.1.3 General Specifications

(1) Automatic Water Level Recorder with Gauging Well


The Contractor shall furnish and install automatic water level recorder (AWLR) at the location shown
on the Drawings or as directed by the Engineer. AWLR shall be of the float type, bubble type, or
pressure transducer type, as approved by the Engineer and shall be connected to a read out the
time-base chart recorder.

(2) Water Level Staff Gauge


The Contractor shall furnish and install water level staff gauges in the weir and headrace canal at the
locations shown on the Drawings or as directed by the Engineer.
The staff gauges shall be of stainless steel plate or enameled galvanized wide, with the exposed side
provided with graduations at centimeter intervals. The Contractor shall fix the staff gauges in their
designated locations by means of stainless steel expansion bolts or equivalent as approved by the

Engineer, to datum level determined by precise survey leveling from a designated bench mark as
approved by the Engineer.

(3) Rainfall Recorder


The Contractor shall furnish and install a rainfall recorder, manual type, at the locations shown on the
Drawings or as directed by the Engineer. The station to be installed the rainfall recorder shall be an
area of 10m x 10m surrounded by permanent fence with an entrance with lock.
The Contractor shall submit his design, estimate and construction plan of the rainfall recorder to the
Engineer for his approval.

11.1.4 Measurement and Payment


Measurement, for payment, of instruments shall be made of the number of installations completed in
accordance with the Drawings or as directed by the Engineer.
Payment for installation of instruments shall be made at the unit prices per set as tendered in the Bill
of Quantities. Such unit prices shall include full compensation for all labor, equipment, material,
accessories and, maintenance and monitoring required for the works.

11.2 EQUIPMENT AND TOOL

11.2.1 Scope of Works


The Contractor shall provide the following instrument and survey reference points, and installed as
shown on the Drawings or as directed by the Engineer.

Diesel engine generator :-


Maintenance equipment and tools : one (1) set

The Contractor shall submit the drawings and method of installation for each item to the Engineer for
his approval at least thirty (30) days before the installation.

11.2.2 Documents and Drawings


Not more than ninety (90) days after the Notice to Proceed, the Contractor shall submit to the
Engineer for his approval full details of all instruments and survey point to be supplied and installed
under the items of the Contract.

the Engineer. The drawings and specifications described hereunder do not present exact details of all
items of instrument required for complete installation, but only give the names, number of equipment
and the position in which they are to be placed.
The Contractor shall install all measuring instruments in accordance with the procedure instructed by
the manufacturers and the requirements of the specifications, with approval of the Engineer.

11.2.3 General Specifications

(1) Diesel Engine Generator


The Contractor shall furnish and install a diesel engine generator including lighting and auxiliary
service system and grounding system at the location shown on the Drawings or as directed by the
Engineer. For the details, refer to Section 7 of this Technical Specifications.

(2) Maintenance Equipment and Tools


The Contractor shall furnish one (1) lot of maintenance equipment and tools sufficient for the proper
maintenance of all the plants to be provided under the Contract. The maintenance equipment and
tools shall include, but not limited to,
One (1) lot of tools for general use such as wrench sets, iron level, cutting pliers,
screw drivers, wire brushes, hammers, vices, jacks, files, saws and oil and grease guns.
One (1) lot of cargo work tools such as lever blocks, chain blocks, snatch blocks and
wire ropes.
One (1) lot of measuring instruments such as digital type electro-magnetic paint
thickness meter, calipers, steel rules, thickness gauge and stop watch.
One (1) lot of testers, such as insulation tester and universal tester.

The maintenance equipment and tools shall be delivered in lockable cabinet(s) fitted internally so
that the tools may be safety stored in an orderly manner.

11.2.4 Measurement and Payment


Measurement, for payment, of maintenance equipment and tools shall be made of the number of
sets delivered on the site in accordance with the Drawings or as directed by the Engineer.
Payment for the procurement of such maintenance equipment and tools shall be made at the unit
prices per set as tendered in the Bill of Quantities. Such unit prices shall include all cost for
procurement, delivery, etc. of the equipment and tools is required.
