Cheese or 1 egg ( 2-3 times in a week)
1 teaspoon butter or 5 olive without pit
1 tomato
3 teaspoon jam, honey or molasses
2 slices of bread

Snack
1 serving of fruit

Noon
1 meatball, chicken or fish
Vegetable dish
Pasta or rice
Yogurt
1 slice of bread
Salad

Mid-afternoon
1 cup milk or fruit juice
1 slice of cake or pastry

Evening
1 serving soup
Vegetable dish
Yogurt
2 slices of bread
Salad

ACCORDING TO THE FOUR FOOD GROUP PLANS


In the four food group plans, the foods which we need to take are meat, milk, breads &
cereals, fruits & vegetables. When i examined the menu that i found, i can easily see or realize it
includes all of them. If i need to give more details , children are nourished with milk or fruit
juice, cheese or egg, butter, olive, tomato, jam, honey, molasses and bread in the mornings. They
slake their daily bread needs by eating bread and they eliminate their milk needs by drinking 1
cup of milk and cheese. And also, they supply their vegetable needs by eating tomato and finally
by eating jam, honey or molasses, they eliminate their meat needs on the mornings.

In snack time, they are nourished with fruits and they supply their fruits needs.

In noon, they eat meatball, chicken or fish, vegetable dish, pasta or rice, yogurt, bread
and salad. Thanks to these they eliminate their needs. For example,
+ meatball, chicken or fish provide meat needs
+ vegetable dish and salad provide vegetable needs
+ pasta or rice provides bread needs
+ yogurt provides milk needs
In mid afternoon, they are nourished with 1 cup milk or fruit juice and 1 slice of cake or
pastry. They eat these and they eliminate their needs in terms of milk and bread.

In evening, there are 1 serving lentil soup, vegetable dish, yogurt, 2 slices of bread and
salad in menu. With lentil soup and bread, needs of breads & cereals are eliminated. Also,
vegetable dish and salad supply us fruits & vegetable needs.

I examined that menu according to the four food group plans and up to me , it is suitable
for a pre-school-children because this menu includes four food groups. Besides, its serving is not
too much or too little.

ACCORDING TO FOOD PYRAMID


In the food pyramid, foods are located amount we need. According to pyramid , bread,
cereal, rice and pasta are more required than others. That is why, they take much space.
Secondly, vegetables and fruits come. Serving amount of vegetables is bigger than fruits. Thirdly,
milk and meats come. And finally, fats, oils and sweets come.

In the morning, children are nourished with milk or fruit juice, cheese or egg, butter,
olive, tomato, jam, honey, molasses and bread. Milk and cheese supply tertiary needs. Bread
supply primary needs and tomato supply our vegetable needs. With jam, molasses, honey and
butter eliminate our quaternary needs.

In snack, they consume fruits and they supply their fruits needs.

In noon, they eat meatball, chicken or fish, vegetable dish, pasta or rice, yogurt, bread
and salad. Fish , meatball and chicken eliminate our meat needs and pasta or rice and bread
supply our primarily needs. And also, yogurt eliminate needs of milk. Vegetable needs are
supplied by salad.

In mid afternoon, they are nourished with 1 cup milk or fruit juice and 1 slice of cake or
pastry. They eat these and they eliminate their needs in terms of milk. Cake or pastry helps us to
eliminate our primary needs.

In evening, there are 1 serving lentil soup, vegetable dish, yogurt, 2 slices of bread and
salad in menu. With lentil soup and bread, primary needs are eliminated. Also, vegetable dish
and salad supply us fruits & vegetable needs.

The menu i found is convenience for food pyramid in many ways. It bases on primarily
needs. And step-by-step, it becomes to down.
