a. You as the first person to find the iPod and nobody knows the incident.

b. You as a friend who were asked for an advice on the incident.

c. You as a student representative who will decide towards the student whom accused of
stealing the iPod.

If I am the first person to find the iPod, I will bring it back to the owner. I will look whos the
owner of the iPod or surrender to the Lost and Found of school. There are so many reasons
why you shouldnt keep that iPod. One reason is, we know that the cost of iPod is not
inexpensive. No one will just put it there and just give it away. Im sure that the owner of that
iPod works hard to buy the thing or if he/she is a student the parents of the student worked hard
just to earn money and buy iPod. The most important reason is, its not yours. Whatever you do;
to keep or to surrender, will reflect you as a person. If you want to have a peaceful life, bring it
back to the owner. And one more thing, stealing is a crime.

In the second scenario, if I as a friend who was asked for an advice on the incident. I will tell my
friend to surrender it to the owner. As Ive said earlier, iPod is not cheap. Its not just a candy. I
will tell to my friend that keeping a thing that is not yours is unlawful and against the will of
God.

In the third scenario, I as a student representative who will decide towards the student whom
accused of stealing the iPod. I will try hard to find and determine the facts or to what really
happened. Unintentionally or not. If it is intentional, I will decide the best punishment to the
student.

Read Opening Decision Point: Walmart's Ethics, pages 212-215

Provide insights on the following question(s)/requirement(s).

1. Does Walmart acted unethically?

2. Explain your answer.

Yes, Walmart acted unethically. Walmart has acted unethically in the way they treat their
employees. First unethical behavior towards their employee. Employees start out at lower wages
than union corporations and they ended up quitting by the end of the first year. Walmart is a non-
union organization. They are supposed to pay employees for every minute they work. Second is
Walmart is wrong by bribing their employees just to report on co-workers who favored a union.
It encourages wrong behavior. Third is Walmart was requiring their employees to work overtime
without pay and to work off-the clock. Last is Walmart has been discriminating against women.
Only small amount of the employees of women are in higher position but more than that is in
low position than men. Men are paid more than women. Walmart failed to provide equal
employment for women and thats very unethical. These are some of the unethical business
practices that hurt the Walmart reputation.
