Water flows steadily from a large tank and exits
through a vertical, constant diameter pipe as shown in
figure. The air in the tank is pressurized to 50 kN/m2.
Neglecting friction loss, determine: (i) the height (h) to
which the water rises, (ii) the water velocity in the pipe, Air
and (iii) the pressure in the horizontal part of the pipe.

The flowing fluid is CO 2 at 20C ( 3 kg/m3). If p1 170 kPa and the
manometer fluid is Meriam red oil (SG 0.827), neglecting losses, estimate:
i) The pressure (p2).
ii) The volume flow rate of CO2 in (m3/h).
