INTRODUCTION:
This course focuses on learners to use knowledge taught to them in understanding, planning,
discussing and evaluating the teaching and learning of art and creativity for young children.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
The objective of the course is to assist learner to:
1) be able to understand the teaching and learning of art and creativity for young children

At the end of the course, the learner should be able to:


1) Explain about the views of art.
2) State approaches and processes the children's creativity.
3) Explain the field of creativity in early childhood education.
4) Designing creativity in teaching activities.
5) Assessing children's creativity.

COURSE POLICY/ATTENDANCE POLICY


Learner are required to abide by the universitys Academic Regulation pertaining to all matters
during their course of study. Learners are advised to take note that class attendance is very
important. Learners who do not meet the attendance requirement will be barred from sitting for
the final examination.

You are expected to fulfill the following requirements of the course to obtain a grade:

FORUM PARTICIPATION: 10%


Learners have to participate online forum discussions in UNIEC virtual. Instruction is provided in
UNIEC virtual.

10.0 Learner makes a significant, positive contribution to the discussion by introducing
creative/original insights that demonstrate serious and deep reflection expressed in a clear
manner.

8.0 - learner makes a positive contribution to the discussion with some creative/original insights
that demonstrate reflection expressed in a clear manner.

6.0 - learner makes a positive contribution to the discussion with little creative/original insight but
shows that the student reflected on the material being discussed and is expressed in a
reasonably clear manner.

4.0 - learner makes a positive contribution to the discussion with little evidence of
creative/original thought but shows some reflection on the material being discussed yet
expressed in a less than clear manner.

2.0 - learner makes a positive contribution to the discussion with little evidence of
creative/original thought with limited signs of reflection on the material being discussed and
expressed in a less than clear manner.

0.0 - learner contribution is not considered helpful to the forum discussion.

There is ONE (1) projects/assignments in this semester. Please refer to UNIEC for details of
project/assignment.

Final Examination (40%)

Final examination coverage will be announced by course leader. Learners may refer to the test
plan posted UNIEC for coverage. Learners who are unable to sit for the exam on the stipulated
date must produce necessary document(s) to enable themselves to sit for special exam. All
arrangements must be made through the Exam Unit.
