Poultry Farm at EP LIFE Farm

Raw Materials Housing and equipment needs will be supplied by hardwares or

construction shops in Narra. Materials needed are: Round
Timber, Nipa, Bamboo Splits, Green Net, Nails, and Yantok. On
the other hand, there may be equipments that the Farm already
have that we need not buy anymore.
It will take a maximum of 1 week for 2 laborers to construct the
house. Their fee is at PhP 350 per day.
Cost for construction materials and labor included is peg at
PhP 90,000.00 as per production cost study.
Production Production will be supervised with one laborer. This implies
that we will have to hire another farm assistant. He/she
will focus on the poultry production but will also help in the
other tasks in the farm.
The day-old chick will be ordered from Puerto Princesa City.
This implies that we need a service vehicle to properly
transport the chicks.
Manufacturing N/A
Distribution We can sell live or dressed chicken as per order.
For dressed chicken, we will be needing a big casserole and an
ice box for distribution.
A service vehicle will again be used in distributing the orders.
End User EP Staf
Narra, Palawan Public Market, Restaurants and Lechon Manok
Vendors. It has been observed that during Christmas season,
there is limited supply of chicken in Narra.

Others:

Other Poultry Farm in Narra: We only know of KV Poultry and they sell eggs
and Cal (matured chickens)
Will these chickens be organic?: No, at least at the start while we are still
experimenting. But Sir Imo will be inducing organic substances to the feeds.
Challenges:
o Electricity Chicks needs light and warmth to grow. These can come
from light bulbs; thus electricity is needed. So to address light, we can
use gas stove. For warmth, we can use wood dust which can just be
collected from nearby farmers for free. We will just need a service
vehicle in collecting them.
o Service Vehicle Currently, the farm doesnt have a service vehicle.
This service vehicle is crucial in collecting the chicks and delivering
chickens. They need to be transported properly to ensure quality. In the
long run, this service vehicle can be used in transporting other
products of the farm and materials.

Conclusion:

Poultry farm is feasible at the LIFE Farm. But we need to address the
challenges. For the service vehicle, we can strike a deal with Operations or Finance
and Admin departments to allow us to use the Estrada accordingly to our needs.
Admittedly, this is an experiment for the farm. In addition, we can use the chicken
manure produced by the poultry farm for our land conversion; however, this will not
suffice.
