Chapter 1
Functional Description
The feature enables that data transmission on E-DCH is retaining without E-DCH falling
back to DCH when HSUPA subscriber is handed over between different RNCs over Iur.

After HSUPA is introduced, the inter-RNC handover also depends on the capability of office
direction RNC to support HSUPA (RncFeatSwitch) because neighbor cells feature varying
support capabilities (HspaSptMeth). That is, only if both the target cell and target RNC
(office direction RNC) support HSUPA, the E-DCHE-DCH handover can be performed.
Otherwise, the DCHDCH handover flow cannot be originated until E-DCH falls back to
DCH. The channel transfer is performed along with handover.

4.2 Steps for Test

1. UE1 activates a PS call in Cell1 and starts FTP uploading.
a. Check "rrcConnectionSetup" message, Cell1's PSC is 274.

b. The "RAB_AssignmentRequestMsg" message indicates that TrafficClass is

Interactive and Uplink maxBitrate is 5760kbps,Downlink maxBitrate is 8192kbps.

c. Check "RadioLinkReconfigurationPrepare" message, PS Service setup

DCH/HSDPA.

d.
e.
2. UE1 moves from Cell1 to Cell2 to trigger event 1A. Cell2 is added into the active set.

a. Check "measurementReport" message, intraFreqEvent is 1a,PSC is 240.

b. Check "activeSetUpdate" message, Cell2 is added into the active set,Cell2's PSC
is 240.

3. UE1 moves further into Cell2 to trigger event 1D. UE1 performs the serving cell change
and Cell2 becomes the serving cell.

a. Check "measurementReport" message, intraFreqEvent is 1d, PSC is 240.

b. UE1 performs the serving cell change and Cell2 becomes the serving cell. Check
on DRNC "RadioLinkReconfgurationPrepareFDDMsg"message coming from
SRNC which keeps the HSUPA service on EDCH, CELL2 is the serving cell after
1d event.

4. Deactivate the PDP.

4.3 Expected Results

UE1 performs the soft handover successfully, and UE1 performs the serving cell change
successfully.
