TERM 2 EXAMINATIONS - UPDATED
Dear Parents,
We would like to inform you about the upcoming examinations which will start
on Tuesday 28th March for Year 10 and Wednesday 29th March for Year 7,
8 and 9. For specific subjects and age groups please see the tables below (an
electronic version of this timetable and revision booklets for students will be
posted on: www.newtoniasecondary.com). During this examination period our
school day will begin at 7.00am and finish 1.30pm. All buses will leave at
normal times - 13.45.
We are sitting our exams in the big gym (Year 7, 8 and 9) and the library (Year
10) again this term, all students must come to their registration in their tutor
rooms at 7.00 and then they will be taken to the gym or Library by their tutors.
Late arrivals will miss on their exam time. Each day students will be given the
opportunity to revise for the upcoming day after 1st break from 10.15 11.15,
therefore it is very important to ensure your son/daughter will bring all materials
needed for their revision.

NIA Examination rules and procedures for students:


1) Bring the correct equipment
Transparent pencil case or transparent plastic bag with pencils,
pens, eraser, rubber, ruler and coloured pencils
Maths calculator, protractor, compass
Revision sheets, exercise books, text books for revision of the
subjects examined the following day

Expectations during the revision students revise individually in


silence if students do not have revision materials they will read
a book in silence
Expectations during the examination students leave their bags
outside of the classroom and only bring their pencil cases for the
examination. During the examination: strictly no speaking,
working with others, moving from the seat during the exams. No
phones or other electronic devices, no books or other materials
allowed. All students must follow the instructions of the teachers.
If students fail to follow these rules their papers will be
cancelled and they will fail their examination.
Please ensure your son/daughter is not absent for these
examination which are very important for monitoring the progress
because there will be no resits.
