NBS FAMILY MEMBER EARNS A DOCTRATE DEGREE

FAMILY member of the National Bureau of

Statistics (NBS), Ms. Margaret Mutaleba
Martin was honoured a Doctorate Degree from
the Africa Graduate University of Sierra Leone
on 28th January, 2017.

Dr. Martin has been honoured this Doctorate

due to her contribution in social aspects
especially in supporting orphan children to
acquire knowledge from primary to higher level
education.

She has also contributed significantly to the

socio-economic development through being a
member of several boards like that of Mt. Meru
Government Hospital, Oldonyo Sambu
Theological College, and various secondary
schools (taking part in fund raising too for
schools).

She is among few women who served in a public

office for long time (about 36 years) without
temptation to look for green pastures in other
organisations -- whereby she has been working
with NBS since 1981.

In academic activities, she has participated in

64 research works that helped the government
in informing its development plans and hence
uplifting social welfare of the citizen.

It is on that backdrop that NBS feels honoured Dr. Margaret Mutaleba Martin
to have a member like Dr. Martin. The Bureau
continues to congratulate her for her success in
earning a doctorate.
