State-of-the-art technologies for a comprehensive and individual treatment system treating 6 different kinds of
effluents. Start-up will commence in November 2018.

October 12, 2015: Malaysias national oil and gas company, Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS), through
its subsidiary under the PETRONAS Group, PRPC Utilities and Facilities Sdn. Bhd. (PRPC UF), today signed a
contract for the FEED and Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning of the Effluent Treatment
Plant (ETP) for PETRONAS Refinery and Petrochemicals Integrated Development (RAPID) Project in
Pengerang, Johor.

The contract was signed between PRPC UF, VA Tech Wabag Limited, Chennai, India; Muhibbah Engineering
(M) Bhd. and Wabag-Muhibbah JV Sdn. Bhd., a JV company incorporated in Malaysia.

Present at the signing ceremony held at Mandarin Oriental Hotel Kuala Lumpur were Dr. Ir. Collin Wong,
PETRONAS Senior Vice President and PRPC Chief Executive Officer, Khairul Salleh Jais, PRPC Project
Director (Utilities and Interconnections), Rajiv Mittal, Group CEO and Managing Director, VA Tech Wabag
Limited and Mac Ngan Boon @ Mac Yin Boon, Group Managing Director, Muhibbah Engineering (M) Bhd.

Individual treatment systems for different types of contaminents

The contracts scope will cover RAPID Complexs effluent and waste water treatment to below the regulatory
discharge limits with a state-of-the-art water treatment system. Run-off water and aqueous effluents from all
sources in RAPID, as well as Pengerang Cogeneration Plant are collected and segregated so that specific
treatment can be applied. The main streams are Accidentally Oil Contaminated (AOC) water, Accidentally
Chemically Contaminated (ACC) water, Fire fighting Water Run-off (FWR), Continuously Oily Contaminated
(COC) water, Process Waste (PW) water from refinery, Steam Cracker Complex (SCC) and Petchem units,
Utilities effluents (UE) and Sanitary Waste Water (SWW). These effluents are polluted components such as
hydrocarbons, dissolved organic biodegradable pollutants and oily polluted process effluents. Effluent Treatment
Plant comprises various units and processes to treat such pollutants like Wet Air Oxidation, Oil Separation units,
Biotower, Biological reactors and self-cleaning filters to reach the desired regulatory limits.

Speaking on the momentous occasion, Rajiv Mittal of VA Tech Wabag Limited said, This project demonstrates
WABAGs technological superiority and engineering capabilities in executing world class large and complex
industrial water projects.

Deputy CEO of Muhibbah Engineering (M) Bhd, Mac Chung Jin stated, Muhibbah is proud of its involvement in
this prominent project as part of the successful development of RAPID and we are confident that with the
capabilities that we have, we would be able to deliver the project to the standards required.

RAPID is PETRONAS largest green-field downstream undertaking in Malaysia, and along with its six major
associated facilities, forms the Pengerang Integrated Complex (PIC). The associated facilities are the Pengerang
Co-generation Plant, LNG Re-gasification Terminal, Air Separation Unit, Raw Water Supply project, the
Pengerang Deepwater Terminal 2 (PDT2) and the Central and Shared Utilities and Facilities.
