ProjectDescription
The Petronas Pengerang integrated complex development comprises Rapid
and its associated facilities, including the Pengerang cogeneration plant, a
liquefied natural gas regasification terminal, an air separation unit, the raw
water supply project and other ancillary facilities.

Rapid will consist of a 300 000 bl/d refinery and petrochemicals complex
with a combined production capacity of 7.7-million metric tons a year of
various grades of products, including differentiated and speciality chemicals
products.

Other associated installations include a regasification terminal 2, an air-


separation unit, as well as crude and product tanks.

Value
Rapid is part of the Petronas Pengerang integrated complex development,
which is worth an estimated $27-billion.

Rapid will cost an estimated $16-billion, while associated installations for


the project will involve an additional investment of about $11-billion.

Duration
Rapids refinery start-up is expected by early 2019.

LatestDevelopments
Technip, in a joint venture (JV) with Fluor, has been awarded an
engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) contract
by PRPC for the Rapid project.

necting and off-site scope of work.
