A Brief Prayer to Panchen Vimalamitra

Kun khyab de chen chos ying dor je sem

Tha ye ngo po kun gye de zhin nyed
Tshan mai spros pa yong dak dang poi gon
Gyal kun rig je dak pur sol wa deb

I supplicate the victorious holder of the entire Buddhas lineage,

The primordial refuge whose characteristic is free from elaborations,
like the total limitless phenomena in the blissful vast expanse of the adamantine mind.

Kam sir ri phun tsog lang bu gang

Ge bai zhing der de dan khor lo dang
Sal rig thab shi zum pai pad mo lay
Kye bai gyu trul ton la sol wa deb

I supplicate the one who has taken the illusory rebirth

with clear awareness and method, in the lotus scented circle of happiness,
the most virtuous land, Kamsiri, the excellent Hill of Elephants.

Do gyud rig pai nay kun khyen cing zig

Ched tsod tsom bay gyal ngam gye zed pai
Trin ley lhun drub pan drub tham cad kye
Tsug gi nor bu chod la sol wa deb

I supplicate the venerated crown jewel.

The complete activity of the scholars is spontaneously accomplished
by the profound wisdom of Sutra and Tantra, the one who abides in complete knowledge,
and through teaching, debate and composition, is the joy of the Buddhas.

Da ki lung gis dur khrud bha sing du

Jhan na sut ra od kur jang chub che
Das je thob las ye she spye zug kyi
Nyan gyud dag por gyur la sol wa deb

I supplicate the one who holds the hearing lineage,

Who was prophesized by the Dakini of the Bhasing Charnel ground:
To be the great Jhanasutra, the Bodhisattva who achieved the body of light,
He would obtain the wisdom body.

I supplicate the one who cleared the path for liberation

by directly inviting (Vimalamitra), whose appearance shone like the sun,
Whose venerable rays illuminated the land of Tibet
Through the strength of the winds of faith, the gentle protector King Trisung Detson,

khyed par ting dzin zang po kal dan gyi

rigs chog sad par zig nay thig gu tse
sang chen nying tig zab dun thar thug gi
dam pai dag por kos la sol wa deb

I supplicate to the holder of the instructions

Especially Ting Dzin Zang Po, the fortunate one
Who was seen as ripening the great seed, the pinnacle of the nine yanas
by actualizing the meaning of the great secret heart essence.

jo ber ser gya da wa mun sel dang
zhon nu gyas par dzad la sol wa deb

I supplicate to the expansive lineage

of the various manifestations arising by illusory nature
Dang ma Lhongyal, Chetsun Senge Wangchok, Zhang Ton Nyima Bum,
Jo Ber Ser Gya , Dawa Munsel, and Zhonu

kyed par dus sum sang gye kun gye ngo

kun khyen chos kyi gyal po long chen pa
khyod kyi tan pai gyal tshab cher trul nas
theg chog gya par dzad la sol wa deb

I supplicate to you who performs the deeds of the Great Vehicle

Especially, to the embodiment of the Three Buddhas of this time
Longchenpa, the Omniscient King of Dharma
You are the great emanation, the regent of the victorious ones!

phyag gya gya chen zhes drag sa sum gyi
gro bai gon po chog la sol wa deb

I supplicate to the supreme refuge of all beings,

known as the sage of the three realms, holder of the Great Seal
The victor of the union of all, the visible form of Samantabhadra
Vima la, the accomplished scholar, who performs enlightened displays.

khyod kye ngo tsar dzad pa gya tso lay

cha tsam dad pai tra tse nyer chod pay
kye zhing kye bar gang gye ring lug la
jug pai kal sang rig su sad par shog

You display a miraculous ocean of deeds

While taking rebirth within the lineage.
Though a mere fraction of devotion is but a small hair of offering
you fully establish those fortunate ones within the noble family (sangha).

Theg chog nying boi lam ton bla mai zhab

Gus pas ten cing sung gi sras gyur nas
Trin ley chog cur gya par jye nu pai
Gal kyen kun zhi thun kyen lhun drup shog

May it happen that all adverse conditions are pacified from the spontaneous arising of
fortune; May this potent activity expand to the ten directions.
The venerable teacher who shows the path to the heart essence of the great vehicle,
The spiritual heir with the enlightened speech, to be followed with devotion.

khyad par ka dag chos kur ngon byang chub

lhun drup nang zhi chos zad thar chen nay
pho wa chen po od kur yong grol te
gro nam cham cig dod mai sar god shog

May it happen that all sentient beings simultaneously reach the primordial state,
Completely liberated within the light body through the method of the great transference;
To be attributed with the actual awakening to the truth body of original purity,
The conclusion of spontaneous visions of accomplishment through the exhaustion of
phenomena
