From all the assignment that we do in Plant Design 3D, we all be trained to having

skill to draw are real power plant drawing. We are using fully function of plant
design. There two parts that we study in plant design, 1st is piping and instrument
diagram, few assignment we are fully using this method. This method required
fully concentration in class. After mastering piping and instrument diagram, we
have been trained to draw a few drawing in plant 3D. In this method is quite simple
caused it just need follow the instruction carefully and few modified while doing it.
After master all of this method we can produce a real simple power plant drawing.

In this course, we also learn how to calculate the calculation that happens in real
power plant. We also learn to understand how and why the power plant is safe.
By learning about plant 3d design, we learned that how the real plant work in an
engineer aspect. We also learned on how to use the AutoCAD Plant 3D software.
With that we learn identify the aspects of the user interface that are unique for plant
design and the workflow for creating and modifying a P&ID or 3D plant design.
When we are creating piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), we are
creating a schematic representation of the sequence of equipment and systems in a
plant design. During the creation of P&IDs, there are many tasks that we need to
accomplish before the design is complete. Some of those tasks include adding
industry-standard symbols to the drawing, breaking and mending lines, ensuring
flow direction, adding tags and annotations in industry-formats, identifying and
correcting potential inconsistencies, and sharing project information. In this
chapter, we learn how to use AutoCAD P&ID to create, modify and manage 2D
piping and instrumentation diagrams for a plant design.

Other than that, in Plant 3D steel modeling we learn how to setup a structural grid,
add steel members, ladders, stairs, railings, plates and footing, and modify the steel
structure. In a plant design, the pipes and piping equipment exist relative to a
building or structural framework. Because of this relationship, when creating a new
3D plant design, the place to start is to include the steel structure in our design. By
having the accurate representation of the steel structure, we can accurately position
the piping equipment and lines.

In Equipment Modeling, its describes the modeling and placement of 3D

equipment. We learn how to create equipment using the available basic shapes and
how to add nozzles to that equipment. We then learn how to place the equipment in
our design. After the 3D design contains the structural steel model, our next task is
to add the equipment to the design. Within the field of plant design there are many
types of plant and piping design requirements and the equipment that is used in
those designs. The equipment can be standard or custom equipment. When the
specific area we are in requires the inclusion of custom equipment, we need a way
to model that equipment.

In addition, After we learn equipment modeling , we also learn about piping in

plant 3D design. In this chapter, we learn that the creation and routing of pipe and
the placement of in-line components. We learn on how to route a pipe line in a 3D
design.

In plant 3D design we also learn on how to calculate flow rate and energy balance
in plant. We also learn how to know material selection, the way to calculate heat
exchanger, reaction and etc. As engineer to a plant refinery, its important for us to
calculate and had knowledge about what happen inside to provide technical
guidance on operating units within a refinery.
