THE EFFECT OF PARE JUICE (Momordica charantia L) TO THE CHANGING

LEVEL BLOOD GLUCOSE WISTAR INDUCED ALLOXAN

ABSTRACT

Background: In the era of globalization, the shift from infectious diseases to non
communicable diseases, degenerative diseases have appeared semakin one of which is
Diabetes Mellitus (DM). DM adalah a degenerative disease that is pretty much
where the sufferer's body can not automatically control the level of sugar
(glucose) in the blood.
Objective: To determine the effect of bitter melon fruit juice to changes in blood
glucose levels in rats Wistar strain induced alloxan
Methods: This study is Experiment Design with design control pretest and
Posttest Design. The population in this study are rats wistar strain. Sampling with
purposive sampling with inclusion criteria Wistar strain rat body weight between
200-250 g, 2 months of age, healthy Wistar rats, without prior treatment.
Group I strain Wistar rats were only given distilled water and sugar solution with
a dose 1,35gr / 200grBB, the second group was given a dose of glibenclamide
with 0,09gr / 200grBB rats by administration of the sugar solution 1,35gr / grBB
rats in group III was given juice pare dose 2,5ml 2,5ml distilled water mixed into
5ml / 200grBB and group IV given 5ml / grBB pare pure juice. To measure blood
glucose levels, measured from blood capillaries subjects before treatment
(pretest) and after treatment (posttest). Using measurement instruments
glucotest. Analysis of the data used in this study is the Wilcoxon.
Results: There was a decrease in glucose levels in the treatment group 1 and 2
on the 5th day after the treatment.
