II. OBJECTIVE:
The aim of this practical coursework is to enhance the knowledge regarding the methods (e.g. Thiessen
Polygon and Isohyetal) in interpreting the rainfall data by means of estimating the average rainfall depth of a
storm event at given catchment basin.
SO(s) Addressed:
d) design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze, and interpret data, and synthesize
information to provide valid conclusions for investigating complex problems;
IV. PARADIGM:
a) For the Thiessen Polygon, construct the thiessen polygon, compute for the corresponding area for
each station, and obtain the average basin rainfall over the entire Pampanga RB.
(You can use manual and computer graphics for the computation of areas)
b) Construct an Isohyetal Map of the same rainfall event and determine the average basin rainfall
c) Compare the results of the two methods and generate a conclusion.
I. GENERAL REQUIREMENT
a) Report based output with computation and conclusion.
b) Kindly refer to the format given in your water resource design project.
II. ASSESSMENT:
a) Kindly attach the prescribed rubrics.
b) This coursework is a GROUP WORK.
