    TicelBioparkIIIinCoimbatore,thethirdsuchparkinTamilNadu,isexpectedtobereadyin18months,saidTamil
    NaduIndustrySecretaryCVSankar.
    TamilNaduwasoneofthefirstStatestoestablishabiopark(TicelI)forpharmaceuticalandlifesciencesectorsin
    2004,hesaidattheIndoUSPartnershipConclavethemarchtowards$500billiontradeorganisedbytheIndo
    AmericanChamberofCommerce.
    Projectcost

    TicelBioParkIwasestablishedintechnicalcollaborationwithCornellUniversityoftheUSatacostof 54crorein
    2004.Thesecondparkwasinauguratedatacostof 168crore.WorkonthethirdontheAnnaUniversitycampusin
    Coimbatorehasbegunandtheprojectcostisestimatedat 55crore.
    SankarsaidTamilNaduhasestablisheditselfasamajordestinationinsectorssuchasautomobilemanufacturing,
    informationtechnologyandpharmaceutical.However,electronichardwarekindofthingsiswhatweneedtodomore
    inthisState,hesaid,wooingpotentialUSbasedinvestors.
    Jointventures

    TheStatehasajointventurewithHindustanLifeCare.Theyhaveanintegratedvaccineprojectofaround 600crore
    inChengelputnearChennai.Itisalsoplanningamedicalpark.
    WeareworkingonjointventureswithoneoftheCentralgovernmententerprisesforlargescalepharmaceutical
    ingredientparksandalsoinmedicaldevices,Sankarsaid.
    Onaerospaceanddefencesectors,SankarsaidSipcotandTidcoarejointlydevelopinganaerospaceparkbetween
    SriperumbudurandOragadamonaround250acresoflandwithadditionallandavailableforfurtherdevelopment.
    Already,14companieshavebeenallottedland,andtheywillsupplytotierIandIIcompanies.ChiefMinisterJ
    Jayalalithaahadmadeanannouncementregardinganadvanceddesignandcomputingcentre,whichisbeingsetupat
    theupcomingaerospaceparktobeusedbycompanieslocatedinthepark.
    Itwillbeuniquesellingpropositionofthisaerospacepark,hesaid.TheStatehasnearly90aerospacerelated
    companies,headded.
    $4billionFDI

    IndustryMinisterMCSampathsaidtherearearound250USbasedcompanies,includingFord,Dell,Visteonand
    Cognizant,operatingintheStatehavingbroughtincumulativeforeigndirectorinvestment(FDI)ofnearly$4billion.
    Thesecompaniesareprovidingdirectemploymenttonearly1.75lakhpeopleandindirectlytonearly2.50lakh.
    TamilNaduisoneofthemostpreferredinvestmentdestinations,hesaid.
