Target
At the end of this activity, you will be competent in identifying and
classifying resources that facilitate and learning processes.
Map
It will be an interesting journey to the world of educational technology a
chance to visit and observe a learning resource center of a school will start
you off.
1. Visit a schools learning resources center. Look around and see what
resources and facilities are available inside.

Impression: This list of available learning resources is most useful in classroom for
an effective teaching learning and globally competitive.
The guidelines and procedures facilitate easy access to the materials by the
teacher because they are available, when someone used it they just log I to
the record book ad record of what is being used or barrow.
The strengths of these learning resources center are: The computers are
new, they have their in charge to take care and facilitate the student who will
used it and some also materials even if it is not new but still functioning and
useful.
The weaknesses are: They dont have internet for the computer, some of the
resources/materials needs mentainance to be well functioning and away
from dust.
The suggestion I can make is that, much better for the learning
resources/materials that they should provide internet to be globally
competitive student and teachers and have budget for any repair.
Reflection
1. Which of the materials in the learning resources caught your
interest the most? Why?
There are many different instruments used to determine the speed of a fluid flow (wind). They
are collectively known as anemometers. A related instrument called the wind vane or
weather vane determines the wind direction. A combination instrument, or aerovane,
measures both. Where the precise speed is not required, an orange cloth cone called
a windsock is commonly used to show the direction and the general velocity.
The term anemometer is derived from the Greek word anemos, meaning wind. The first known
description of an anemometer was given by Leon Battista Alberti around 1450.
Types of Anemometers
The most common is the cup anemometer, which is simply three or four cup shaped objects
mounted on the arms of a centre shaft. The cups catch the wind and are spun around as a
result. The speed at which the cups rotate is used to determine the wind speed.
The next most common is the windmill anemometer. It is the same as any windmill, a
propeller mounted on a nacelle which allows the windmill to rotate around to face the wind.
The speed of the wind is determined by how fast the propeller is spinning.
There are several other methods of determining the speed of a flow but are usually assigned
to laboratory use due to their sensitive construction (e.g. hot-wire anemometer or laser
Doppler anemometer.)

Episode 2
Target
At the end of this activity, you will be competent in appraising the
effectiveness of display boards as learning resources.
Map
Display board, or what we more commonly refer to as bulletin board, is
one of the most readily available and versatile learning resources.
Tools
As you look around and examine board displays, use the activity forms
provided for you to document your observations.
1. Go around the school and examine the board display. How many
boards diplay do you see?
2. Where are the display boards found? Are they in places where target
viewers can see them?
3. What are the displays about? What are the images and colors do you
see? How are the pieces of information arranged?
4. What materials were used in making the displays? Are borders used?
5. Do you notice some errors? (misspelled words, grammar
inconsistencies and the like)
6. Are the messages clear and easily understood?
7. You may choose to take a photo of the display board (if allowed)

EVALUATION
Strengths Weaknesses

Analysis
Did the board display design reflect the likes/interest of its target
audience? Why? Why not?
Was the language used clear and simple for the target audience to
understand? Why? Why not?
Yes the language used clear and simple for the target
audience to understand because the pupils understand and relate what is
being displays when they are ask.
What do you think was the purpose of the board display? Was it
effective? Why? Why not?
Objectives:
The content resources that are needed are the following: Paper for cut out letters,
borders used to decorate, colored printer for 3D picture and the computer used for
an electronic drawing.
The materials for aesthetic enhancement are the following: 3d printed pictures,
consistent of font size paper cut out and the wood that used as frame should be
fixed well and clean.
Reflections
Name at least 5 skills that a teacher should have to be able to
come up with effective board displays. Elaborate on why each
skill needed.
1. Creativity. Instructional content can be dry and boring in a classroom setting. Creative teachers
try to present concepts and content in an interesting way.
2. Visual skills. Teachers are somewhat like interior designers; they must be able to visualize the
presentation and impact they want to create, and then apply those to the display.
3. Organizational skills. This goes along with #2, but organization includes comparing and
contrasting, grouping and arranging content in a meaningful way.
4. Communication. Teachers know that words combined with visual content can often communicate
more than words alone. As well, the teacher must be a good communicator.
5. Lastly, good teachers make visual displays part of the lesson plan. Displays or decorated bulletin
boards are not just to make the room pretty. A good teacher can use one display to help students
build many different skills.
2. Which skills do you still need to develop? Reflect on how you can
improve on or acquire these skills.
The skills that I need to developed that I think I never use it daily is the
creativity skills, maybe I can improve and acquire the skills y practicing ad engaging
some workshop.
Observational Report

School
During the class discussion the teacher were using only chalk and chalk board.
The learner in this class was attentive or responsive, when the teacher calls them
to answer they just raise their hand and when their name is being called they
stand up and go to the board to answer the question. They are interested in their
class.
II- Analysis
UTILIZATION OF TEACHING AIDS FORM
Analysis
What do you think prompted the teacher to choose the materials/learning
resources that she/he used?
I think the teacher used those materials/learning resources that was the
easiest for her to access and produce.
What difficulties, if any, did the teacher experience? How can this be
managed?
The difficulties I think that the teacher experience it is time consuming on
writing the boards using their resource materials, chalk, chalk board and manila
paper, where as when she used any alternative materials or she already made their
visual aide maybe the time she used writing on the board can be used to explain
well or facilitate the pupils need
Over-all, were the learning resources/materials used effectively? Why?
Why not?
The learning resources/materials are not effective to the learners, maybe
the teacher can used flash cards, power point or any alternative for the chalk, chalk
board and manila.
Reflection
If I were the teacher on this class I will do differently with their style of
teaching. May be if I will be allowed to used the computer, I can present power point
to my discussion in order to be more attentive and responsive on the part of the
student.

Episode 4
Target
At the end of this activity, you will gain competence in preparing
instructional materials that are appropriate to the learning content.
Map
To reach you target, follow the steps below:
1. Are there learning resources useful for your topics in the resources center you
visited?
2. Are the available materials appropriate for your target grade/year level?
3. List down those that can be useful for your topic?
4. What other materials can you make?
Observational Report
Name of School Observed: Dona Juana Actub Lluch Memorial Central School
Location of School:
The learning resources are useful to my topic in the resource center, the
availability of the materials are appropriate for my target grade/ year level. The
materials that are useful o my topic are the cut-out materials and transparencies.
Analysis
The benefits of doing a survey for the available materials are that I can
prepare what is being available and suitable to my appropriate level of learners that
suit to their specific lesson. Secondly, during survey I can checked the materials or
facilities f it is working. Third, after a survey and checking the availability of the
materials or facilities, I can use it in the class according to their function.
Reflection
1. Which of the materials did you like making the most? Why?
The materials that I like is the cut-out materials because after cutting picture I
can place it in my readymade drawing as reflection or a model.
2. What difficulties, if any, did you encounter in making the materials?
How did you overcome them?
The difficulties I encounter in making the materials is the time to find some of
the picture that fit or suit to the lesson being discuss or presented to the
learners.
3. What tips can you give t the teachers regarding preparation of
teaching materials?
The tips I can give to the teachers regarding of teaching materials are the
following:
It is important that the materials presented to the class is economical presentable
by using the creativity of a teacher and lastly dur abl
