Abstract:-
Social services are a range of public services provided by government, private, and non-profit
organizations. These public services aim to create more effective organizations, build stronger
communities, and promote equality and opportunity. Social services include the benefits and
facilities such as education, food subsidies, health care, job training and subsidized housing,
adoption, community management, policy research, and lobbying. Social service is generally
done in free time available to the people. It is seen as a part time work by a majority of people.
People think that social service is a minor work which can be done anytime, anyway. The paper
tells us about the scope, benefits and information about the social service. It helps to know more
about this work and change the people mindset about the social service.

1.Introduction:

1.1. Background:
Social services are a range of public services provided by government, private, and non-profit
organizations. These public services aim to create more effective organizations, build stronger
communities, and promote equality and opportunity. Social services include the benefits and
facilities such as education, food subsidies, health care, job training and subsidized housing,
adoption, community management, policy research, and lobbying. Social service is generally
done in free time available to the people. It is seen as a part time work by a majority of people.
People think that social service is a minor work which can be done anytime, anyway. Lot of
organisations are established as social service organisations which aims at providing security,
comfort, particular requirements to the people. It is a work generally done for the benefits of
people. It solves the problems of common man.

1.2. Purpose:
Social service aims at fulfilling necessary requirements of the people who are in need of that
requirement. There are separate social organisations who provide medical facilities, educational
facilities, and many other facilities. These are the required facilities for everyone in todays life
and everyone should have this facilities. But poor people don't have the facilities, for them these
organisations play a important role. But the main drawback of many of this organisation is that
they are closed in working hours and are mostly available open in weekends. Due to this the
organisations are not able to provide support to the required people.For this, the organisation
should work everytime to help maximum people. This can be achieved only if social service
turns out to be a full time work.

1.3. Scope:
Social service importance is rising day by day. People who do some good social service work are
soon highlighted in the news and they get a lot of appreciation. They are also awarded with lots
of prizes. They gain a respectable position in the society, area and other places. They are a well-
known person and many people know them. Doing good for others and helping several people is
a part of social service group. Social service can be done by anyone. It doesn't require generally
any qualification. It is a good platform for an individual to grow as a person and to put some
work in development of humanity.

1.4. Limitations:
Social service has a few drawbacks while doing it has a full time work. Social service work is
not a money building work. It is a work to help others. Money is difficult to earn as required for
the person. It doesn't provide a good money as compared to the other works. The other works
such as business, service, employment provide a good money with respect to the social service
work. Social service as a full time work is generally done by people who have abundant wealth
or by people retired from their service who wish to help others to provide them their needs and
requirements. It is difficult for people with less wealth to do it as a full time work because they
have to think of fulfilling their own requirements before doing it.

2.1. Findings:
Different social service organizations were considered for the proper knowledge about exactly
how the social service work is. There are various kind of social service organizations depending
upon the size of organization. There are large as well as small organizations. Many people are
taking active participation in social service work. Younger people are generally participating in
huge amount. Mostly, everyone who works in social service is a multi-tasking person. They do
several works along with the social service. They looked more interested in social service work
inspite having different working occupation.They want to spend more time in this activity. But,
due to various problems such as spending time with family, working in office, engaged in several
work, etc dont allow them to spend time in social work.

There were also some people who spend their entire time in social service. They dont have any
other work. They looked very fresh, eager to work and didnt have any greed of earning money.
Right from waking up in the morning till going to sleep at night, they only think about doing
social service. They dont even think of any other work to do. Especially, they are old people
who are retired from their previous service, rich people who have lot of money wishing to spend
for the welfare of the society and also some young people who dont have any interest in the
studies come to do social service as a work. All of them, they do it from heart. Although they
earn less but they are gathering respect from everywhere.

The online survey was also taken whether the social service can be considered as a full time
work. People all over have different ideas regarding social service. Their views about the social
work were completely different. Their knowledge about the social work was limited.They mostly
consider social service has a work done from the heart.It is a very good work. People of all
categories, religion, culture can do this. There is no special qualification expected in social
service. It can be done by anyone who is interested to do it. Social service can be a hobby. It is a
selfless work. It should be a part of our life. We must care about other underprivileged denizens
of society who are deprived of basic amenities such as education to children, elderly care, etc.

So, there must be empathy towards such causes. It is a good heartwarming deed. Social service is
to help someone either by providing them education ,food or basic necessities they dont have.It
may also involves to help someone to maintain cleanliness or create awareness among masses.
Its responsibility of every individual. Its a mandatory thing for the betterment of the society.
They are easy to handle. These are all the thoughts about social service regarding people.

2.2 Analysis:
There was a survey conducted for knowing more about the mindset of people regarding the
social service and whether it can be done as a full time work. There are advantages as well as
disadvantages of social service if considered as a full time work. Analysis of all the captured
information is given below. People were asked to give their votes in a poll taken recently
whether the social service can be considered as a full time work. Many people gave positive
response towards it. 73% votes were in favour of social service to be considered as a full time
work. 27% said that social service cant be considered as a full time work. All the survey
questions were answered by the higher class students .

The next analysis was done on what kind of work is social service. People were having different
views. Majority of people think that social service is a problem solving work. 82% of the people
think that it is a problem solving work. 36% think that it is a planning work. 27% think that it is
a procedural work. 27% people also think that it is a reactionary work. 18% people think that it is
a insecurity work. People were asked to give multiple views regarding this question. The analysis
gives the result as per the vote given to the respective kind of work. This question was raised to
know more on what factors does the social service work depends upon. Due to this, the
information and knowledge about the social service whether it can be considered as a full time
work can be implemented.

The last question in the survey was to check how much people consider social service if
implemented as a full time work on a scale having range from 0 to 10. 28% people gave 7 to the
social service work . 27% people gave 8 to it. 18 % people gave 6 to it. 9% people gave 1, other
9% people gave 3 to it. The remaining 9% gave 5 to it. No one gave 0,2,4,9 and 10 to this
question. The average of all the voters was 6, which is more than half. So, according to the
survey, the social service being implemented as a full time work has positive response.

The survey was taken by the people who are not a part of any social service organization. The
actual analysis when taken by visiting several organization was found that people are happy in
doing social service. They enjoy more here with respect to the other person doing different work.
But most of them find very little time to spend in social service work and cant do it. They get
less money in this work, but the respect they get from the people is quiet appreciable. This was
all about the analysis of social service work.

3. Conclusion:
 Social Service- From Part Time Work To Full Time Work

Social service work is required for solving the various problems taking place in the society. It is
the work to modify the society. It is required to develop the society as well as to design it. It is
required in our country to very large extent, since majority of the population requires it. It is
required for various social causes happening everyday in our nation. Social service is thus
required for the betterment of the society. Increase in the social service will help to make our
nation more advanced and modified in the future by helping the needy ones. More and more
people are required for this work to ensure the growth of our country. With the help of social
service not only our countries social development take place but also economical, environmental,
educational, industrial as well as medical development takes place.

For all the purposes to develop our nation, more and more people are required to do work for
social service. They need to spend their time in social service. If the people of current generation
do a lot social service, it will help the future generations a lot. For, this people need to do social
service work as a full time work. More the number of people doing social service work, it would
be beneficial for the society. People should change their work from part time work to full time
work. People should not go behind money because at the end it will not matter at all. So doing
social service as a full time work would definitely lead to the progress of our nation.
