Description of how to implement in the class:
The teacher will introduce the water cycle and the properties of water (liquid, gas, solid) by asking
students what they know about liquid, solids, and gases. The teacher will teach students about solid,
liquid, and gases by using hands on objects such as ice cubes and water in a cup. Students will hold an
ice cube and determine if it is a solid, liquid, or gas. Then students will let the ice melt in their hand
and explain why the ice cube has changed from a solid to a liquid. Students will be asked to name
other examples of when water changes, like in the water cycle.
After learning about the properties, the teacher will show students the PowerPoint about solid,
liquid, and gases. Students will answer the questions as the PowerPoint is played in class. Then the
teacher will explain to students that they will create their own PowerPoint about the properties of
water. Students will work with a partner to create their own movie of examples of solid, liquid, and
gases.
Level of Technology Implementation (LoTi): This falls under LoTi 4 because learning is student-
centered. Students also share their end product with students in the classroom.

Description of the sample spreadsheet and graph/chart provided *: The PowerPoint that is
provided as an example will serve as a template for students to follow while creating their own
PowerPoint.
