Breaking the ice
- Gather in the middle of the room and listen to each phrase.

- Each would you rather question comes with a choice; you may be given two
bad choices, but you arent allowed to make the choice of either or both.
Think of a class you got a good grade in (this past
year)
What did YOU do to be successful in that class?

How did OTHERS help? (teachers, friends, family, counselor, etc)


Classes at DLA

DLA Curriculum preps you for a 4 Year University

Must pass classes and competencies with C- or better

No Mark when: Scholar receives a No Mark on a competency


How do I clear a No Mark?
Why clear NMs?
Tell the person next to you!

To pass all my classes

To avoid summer school

To get my parents/guardians off my back

To be college-ready!

To get my counselors and teachers off my back

To prove myself all I am capable of


Decision Making
1.List all your choices

Scenario
1. Ignore the No Marks
K is a 10th grade scholar at Del Lago.
2. Clear the 9th grade No
K has 2 No Marks from 9th grade and 2 from this Marks first
year.
3. Clear the 10th grade No
K is unsure about going to college Marks first
K wants a good job after high school 4. Clear both of them at the
