Our product is a formal business model for the restaurant concept that we have created;
it will cover the ins and outs of the operations with as much detail as we can provide. We want
to create this culmination of fine, meticulous details in order to display our accumulated
knowledge over the year about seriously opening up a business and restaurant. The Xiao Baby
business model will include details such as restaurant design, logo design, sample menu,
business locations, targeted market, restaurant outlook, staff development, brand development,
These will be for the brainchild concept, Xiao Baby, where the general idea for the
restaurant is to serve soup dumplings incorporating different ethnic soups that can be found
across the globe. To create such a restaurant would require knowledge and experience from
different cuisines, and knowledge about creating soup dumplings. With the information gained
through research, we would incorporate this into the process of creating our business model
since every business model has its own uniquenesses. Not only will we learn how to prepare
the dishes that we have conceptualized, we will also learn how to develop the different gears
within an operation in order to create a viable business plan. Throughout the year, we will learn
to design a restaurant in relevance to the name, theme, and philosophy of Xiao Baby.
Furthermore, we will also learn about the importance of strategic use of a restaurants logo,
location, online presence, and how the target market shapes each of these aspects. We would
also acquire knowledge about coming a step closer to creating a financially stable restaurant.
The business model would serve as a representation of our comprehension of the skills we
have gathered throughout the year, as well as our devotion and passion towards Xiao Baby as
a concept.
financially successful restaurants and the minute details incorporated into their business models
and standing restaurants. These observations will be crucial in the development of different
parts of the business model such as the restaurant size, staff development, market overview,
and financials. Though the financial details make up a large portion of the business model,
research pertaining to menu creation and restaurant aesthetic also play an important role in
solidifying a brand of the restaurant. The reason why observation will be a key part of this
process is that many restaurants that are successful and sustainable are essentially templates
that are available to anyone who seeks for them. We aim to look upon these commonalities as a
guideline to what makes a restaurant successful, while retaining the uniqueness that Xiao Baby
holds as a concept.
The ultimate goal for the development of these multiple variables within the operation is
to portray our vision as the founders while being financially successful and stable. For example,
we will have to design our restaurant based upon how we envision the usable space while
creating an area that is the most financially feasible. We would have to apply this kind of thought
Methodology:
In order to accomplish this we must conduct research on separate parts of the business
model and come up with drafts of each section to present to our mentors. We would complete
these in a sequential order as to make sure we make the most with the time that remains before
final presentation. We plan to write drafts and complete each section in this order:
1. Branded Cover: We will create a logo and incorporate our names and date on the
cover page.
2. Concept: This is an in depth description about the food we anticipate to serve,
the inspiration behind the restaurant, and how we choose to serve the food. This section
will help to answer why our restaurant would survive in an already thriving restaurant
market.
3. Sample Menu: This will be a draft of how are menu will look and how we plan to
host them, it is something that is helpful to plan out and can give insight to potential
would have a general feeling on the atmosphere and look of the restaurant.
6. Target Market: This is where we would relate our restaurant concept to a certain
location regarding the physical properties and its relations to the roads and other
buildings around it. We could also list viable locations in order to match the specific
the restaurants chosen area, as well as factors such as competition and the comparison
we made that decision. We would need outside assistance to help determine what
independent research on what should be included into this section. For example, we
need to know how long it should be expected to be able generate profitable revenue and
calculate how long we will be in the black and how many red lines we will have.

Conclusion:
In the end, we hope to create a business plan that will have the flexibility to be modified in the
future as higher education informs us on better techniques in creating a design. As for now,
trying to advance our knowledge in this field and our own personal restaurant concept will only
help now and in the future. There are more questions about how are product has relevance to
the real world, but since our restaurant concept is a direct real world correlation, we have other
goals in mind. Through the accomplishment of the completion of this starting business model,
we want to answer this question through our apparent research and presentation: Why does
