II. Event at a glance (Conference overview)

The National conference on Agrarian Legal Services held in Greenleaf
Hotel, General Santos City last February 27 March 2 2017 was a step in
harmonizing/Synchronizing the Legal sector of the Department. The three-
day conference was organized by the Office of the Undersecretary for
Legal Affairs. The first day covered the opening where the Secretary gave
his keynote message, inspiring the legal sector to faithfully discharge their
duties and functions in the service to farmers. A fellowship night
concluded the days activity.
The second day featured the breakout sessions for the Legal and DARAB
groups. The breakout sessions were synthesized in the plenary session
followed by the DARAB awards.
The third day tackled key messages from the different DAR Sectors,
namely, Field Operations, Support Services, Policy & Planning and Legal
Affairs.
III. Participation
The conference was attended by 300 participants hailing from 16 regions
and 81 provinces.

V. Measuring Success:
Overall, the conference was a success. The conference was a venue for
laying out the directives of the agrarian legal sector and its components. It
also became the venue for feedback of the policies that DAR is currently
working on thru the PRFC.
