father of his children and family head, 36 years old, and married to Mrs. Melca as her
wife. They have two young children namely Rose Ann, 7 years old and currently grade
one student and Laica, 5 years old and not enrolled as a nursery student. Mrs. Melcas
mother and grandmother lives with them in order to help themselves living in everyday
basis since Mrs. Melca is pregnant with their third child. They also have a helper,
Mrs.Gina who stay with them during the day for almost a week.

The table shows the socioeconomic and cultural characteristics of the Bables
family. The head of the family Mr. Danny Bables is a laborer in Bicol, Albay with a
monthly income of twenty thousand pesos. Mrs. Melca Bables is a plain housewife who
cares about her family especially to her mother who is bedridden due to her neck
fractures and her two children. The couples were able to attain college so they easily find
decent jobs. Mr. Danny Bables is a college undergraduate of Bachelor of Science in
Agriculture at SLPC in second year level and unable to finish due to financial
circumstances while Ms. Melca Bables was a college graduate of Bachelor of Science in
Business and Administration Major in Financial Marketing but unfortunately, Mr. Bables
decided that its better that Mrs. Melca should stay at home to take care on their family as
well as shes currently pregnant with their third child. Mrs. Clementina and Violeta
Subieto doesnt have any earnings due to their chronic illness and old age but according
to them, they inherit some of the lands at the Tayabas, Quezon thats also source of their
living. Mrs. Gina Delos Santos, their helper earned two thousand pesos from Dannys
income monthly.
All members of the family are Roman Catholic however they do not go to mass
regularly as a whole family at times. Rose Ann, their eldest child is at her Grade 1 level in
elementary and of course, still not earning her income same as her sibling, Laica whos
still at home and not studying.
According to some trusty sources, Subietos family comes from a rich family yet
have many complicated problems like the death of the Violetas husband as well as the
accident that cause her neck fracture, Melcas confused state of mind as well as her health
status and many more. Theyre really lucky because they have the money for their day-to-
day expenses and have the budget for their basic needs.

C. Home and Environment

According to the survey and interview, the Babless house is made of durable and
good materials which include sturdy wood, and hollow blocks. According to Mrs. Melca,
the house was very old and antique because it was built and stand for almost four decades
since she was born. Upon observing the house, I observed some of the ceilings and floors
has been invaded of termites that my cause injury or harm to the family members.
They have a spacious space and sufficient number of rooms for them to use in
sleeping; their bed room was divided into three rooms accordingly. They have lighting
connection facilities. Their water supply is Level II which means their water facility is
piped water with a communal water point serving an average of 4-6 households within a
25-meter distance. They have a sanitary toilet and an open drainage system. Their
garbage is collected. They own basic appliances like television, refrigerator, and electric
fan.

According to the data obtained, Mr. Danny Bables, the head of the family has
hypertension and taking his maintenance medicines. Mrs. Melca Bables was recently
diagnosed tuberculosis in her chest x-ray as well as sputum smear. Unfortunately, Mrs.
Melca Bables wasnt consistent with her answers at all and I observed that shes very
confused then I found out to my assigned midwife as well as to our NDP that Mrs. Bables
is not compliant with her treatment at all and not having her consultation to Mrs. Lala
Omlas, head of TB-DOTS program. It is very alarming not only because its contagious
for the reason that shes pregnant with her third child that may cause harm for the both of
them. Clementina Subieto has been diagnosed of cholelithiasis last year, she wasnt able
to be operate cholecystectomy due to her old age. So her attending doctor ordered some
medications that will help to dissolve the gallstones and fortunately, they found out that it
was all cleared.

Mrs. Violeta Subieto has been involved to a vehicular accident together with her
husband last year that cause a tragic fate on the both of them. Mr. Leonard died at the age
of 68 years old due to multiple wounds on that accident while Mrs. Violeta suffered neck
fracture that cause her to be bedridden up to now with neck braces. Laica Bables, the
youngest child has multiple lesions on her lower extremities and when I asked Mrs.
Melca, she said that it was nothing. p

Also, in thisfuruncle in her right arm and shes doing nothing. The table shows
that when each of the family member has cough, cold, and fever, they self-medicate as
their health action.
