ST.

COLUMBA CATHOLIC CHURCH SAN DIEGO

July 18, 2010—Sixteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Pastor’s Corner ~ Seniors’ Club

Thursday, July 22nd, 10:30 a.m.
HOSPITALITY is a very good way to show our love for
others, sometimes even for strangers. Abraham welcomed Program: D. J. Brennan
the three men that were God’s messengers, Paul welcomed
the idea that God reveals himself to the Gentiles, and Martha Fiddling and Folk Music
and Mary welcomed Jesus in their home. All the welcoming
and hospitable treatment brought them blessings. Lunch: Baked ham, potatoes,
ambrosia salad
In our modern living, after all the sad experiences with the
“bad guys”, we have changed our way of looking at
hospitality. Safety, security and protection have become our
reasons for being cautious in dealing with other people. We
even instruct our children not to talk to strangers. We want to
set our boundaries and protect our privacy. St. Columba School Registration

accommodation of other people, including strangers.
