QET DC MOTOR CONTROL TRAINER

QET DC Motor Control Trainer is a high quality,

versatile, yet affordable trainer ideal for teaching
fundamentals of motor control parameters,
tuning and haptics using several integrated
experiments.

DEMONSTRATE FUNDAMENTALS OF MOTOR CONTROL

The QET DC Motor Control Trainer provides an ideal way to demonstrate
the motor control, tuning and haptics fundamentals. This standalone
trainer is exceptionally versatile and can be controlled via embedded or
computer control to introduce:
1. Embedded microcontroller control: using the QET DC Motor
Control Trainer in conjunction with a Quanser QIC Processor Core and
the QICii software. The QICii (i.e. QIC interactive interface) consists of
pre-packaged ready-to-use experiments in modeling, speed control,
robustness, position control, and haptic explorations.
2. A
nalog feedback control: using the Quanser Analog Plant

Simulator (APS) or any other analog computer including OP-AMP on reverse page.
circuits implemented on breadboards. A breadboard is available on
the QET DC Motor Control Trainer for students to implement their
own analog controllers.
3. P
C-based Control: using a PC with real-time control
capabilities and a data acquisition (DAQ) board.

HOW IT WORKS
The QET DC Motor Control Trainer consists of a motor instrumented
with an encoder. The motor is driven using a linear power amplifier.
The power to the system is delivered using a wall transformer. QET DC MOTOR CONTROL TRAINER WORKSTATION
Signals to and from the system are available on a header as well COMPONENTS
as on standard connectors for control via a data acquisition board. QET DC Motor Control Trainer
Thus the system may be controlled using an external PC equipped Instructor and Student Workbooks (provided in digital format)
with a DAQ board. Sample pre-built controllers and complete dynamic model
There is also a socket that accommodates a PIC controller. The PIC
can measure the encoder, apply voltages to the motor amplifier, and
communicate with a laptop or PC using a USB cable. In addition,
analog controllers can be implemented on the breadboard.

Courseware Co-developed with Professor Karl strm

The QET DC Motor Control Trainer 's "plug-and-play" interactive
curriculum was developed in collaboration with Professor Karl
strm. The fully standalone experiments allow you to maximize
system use and expose your students to important industrial and
theoretical control issues. QET DC Motor Control Trainer workstation
