A. Cleaning of Contact Areas
(1) Remove all signs of grease or oil with a lint-free cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No. 14SBA1)
made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No. 08BAA9).

B. Removal of the Surface Protection from the Bonding Area
(1) Remove the surface protection from the contact area. The surface you thus clean to bare metal must
be larger than the contact area of the connector by 3 mm (0.1181 in.) to 5 mm (0.1969 in.).

NOTE: For contacts between corrosion-resistant steel and cadmium-plated steel, titanium and cadmi-
um-plated steel or conductive metals, it is not necessary to remove the surface protection.

C. Cleaning of Contact Areas
(1) Remove all contamination with a lint-free cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No. 14SBA1) made
moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No. 08BAA9).

D. Temporary Protection of the Bare Metal Areas
(1) If you cannot do the bonding in less than 4 hours, apply a thin layer of Mineral Oil base Grease--
Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No. 03FAB1) on the bare metal areas.
(2) Remove this material with a lint-free cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No. 14SBA1) made moist
with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No. 08BAA9) before you do the bonding.

NOTE: The protection of the surface with Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum
- (Material No. 03FAB1) is only necessary if the connection is not made in less than 4 hours.

4. Procedure
Subtask 20-28-00-912-064-A
A. Bonding of Electrical Connectors in the Fuselage
(1) Install the connector with its fasteners on the structure or equipment.
(2) Apply Varnish-- Electrical Bonding Structure (Material No. 04TMB2) or Polysulfide Sealant-General
Purpose Brushable - (Material No. 06AAA1) on the bare metal areas.
Make sure that you put the material fully on the bare metal areas.
(3) Make sure that the resistance (ohmic) is correct (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-869-801) .

B. Bonding of Electrical Connectors in the Wings
(Ref. Fig. Bonding of Electrical Connectors SHEET 1)
(1) Install the connector with its fasteners on the structure or equipment.
(2) Make sure that the resistance (ohmic) is correct (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-869-801) .
(3) Apply Coating Sealant-Fuel Tank Brushable - (Material No. 06HAA1) on the bare metal areas and the
fasteners.
Make sure that you put the material fully on the bare metal areas.

C. Bonding of Electrical Connectors in the Fuel and Surge Tanks.

(1) Install the connector with its fasteners on the structure or equipment.
(2) Make sure that the resistance (ohmic) is correct (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-869-801) .
(3) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Brushable - (Material No. 06ABA1) on the bare metal areas and
the fasteners.
Make sure that you put the material fully on the bare metals areas.
