Emotional effects of using Android phones to ABM students of

University of San Agustin

Introduction

Into todays world, digital technology changes so rapidly and integrates into our society

and most especially to the people that surrounds us, it is hard to keep up with it, let alone reflect

on the effects it has on our lives. Todays generation of teenagers, born in the 1990s are the most

connected generation ever. We never knew that it already created different emotional effects

towards the students. Emotional effects like emotional maturity and reasoning, depression,

jealousy, insecurities, and stress.

However, focusing only on the negative experiences of some people ignores technologys

potential as both a tool for treating mental health issues and for improving the quality of peoples

lives and promoting emotional well-being. For example, there are programmers for depression

and phobias, designed to help lift peoples moods, get them active and help them to overcome

their difficulties. The programmers use guided self-help-based cognitive behavioral principles

and have proven to be very effective.

Android is an OS created by Google for use on mobile devices such as smartphones and

tablets is an OS that is available on devices made by a variety of manufacturers giving more

choices of device style. This ability of Android phones to change our brains has led to questions

over whether screen-based activity is related to rising incidence of such conditions as attention

deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or an increased risk of depression and stress. It brought an

unprecedented level of convenience to our lives


It was questioned that whether the use of android phones could interfere with the ability

to develop empathy and problem-solving skills and elements of social interaction that are

typically learned during communication with peers.

Effects of using androids is a major impact of academic and social life. The habitual of

using Android shows restlessness and anxiety. As the penetration of android phones in society

increases, there is a large growth in the use of android phones especially among the students.

This trend is followed by the fast growth in emotional effects towards other students.

Emotional impact of Android phones say further at school should try to document how

much personality traits factor into the stress associated with use of the Android phones. In school

settings, for example, some android users may have trouble managing a healthy separation of

studies and personal time regardless of what mobile-accessibility demands. It started to

recognize the harm may be inflicting on students who carry android with them after leaving their

house.

Statement of the Problem

The overall objective of this study is to know the emotional effects of android users of

ABM students in University of San Agustin for the school year 2016-2017.
Your choice of smartphone may effect what other people think of you and it can tell us a

lot about the user. Nowadays, people judge easily on what they see and what phone do you have

measures your financial status.

The researchers aim to know what the android users feel in order to be aware on the

things that are not visible in our eyes. Feelings are very hard to determine. Not all people are

acting what they feel, some are just pretending that they are feeling well but on the inside they

are not.

Being aware on what other people feel can lessen negative effects to the affected person

and it can also make your relationship with other people stronger.

Specifically, this study aims to answer the following questions:

1. What will be the other possible emotional effects that will create?

2. What would they feel about this study?

3. In what way the researcher could help the ABM students?

Scope and Delimitation

This study is focused on the emotional effects of android users to Accountancy Business

and Management (ABM) students in University of San Agustin for the school year 2016-2017.

Interview will serve as the main instrument of the study in order to gather all the

information that the researcher needs.


Significance of the study

The findings of this study will rebound to benefit the ABM students of University of San

Agustin, the parents of the students to be aware of the behavior of their child, to serve as a guide

to the school administrators on what should the school teachers emphasize or what to improve or

help the students. This research will also help the other researchers on their future study.
