1.0 Introduction
A signage supporting frame from level +9.806 to level +16.848 is proposed to erect at Circle Plaza,
No.447-149, Hennessey Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong
SWAL Asia Ltd is duly appointed as Registered Structural Engineer to prepare the structural
submission to Buildings Department for approval.
There signage supporting frame approximately 6.97m (H) x 4.1m(L) x 0.25m(W) facing Hennessey Road.
The proposed sign board will be project about 4.1m from the building boundary line.
The proposed signage would be mounted to existing structural elements, via the 'HILTI' anchor and
through bolt system transfer loading directly to column.
All the supporting structures are constructed in form of structural steels which would be fastened
to existing structural elements by anchor and through bolt.
Visual inspection was carried out regarding the condition on overall building structure element and
it surrounding area.
The existing commercial building built in 1977 and the building covered area approximate
to be 19m(L) x 10m(W) with 22 storey.
The existing building is a 22 storey R.C. beam & column moment frame structure and
4/F is the podium and without transfer structure.
The existing super-structure is founded on pile foundation and with a pile cap
During the inspection, no undue structural cracks and/or spalling were noted. The existing structure
is considered to be in good condition.
4.0 Conclusion
It can be concluded that the eraction of signboard steel from will not affect to existing building.
