Principals Message
Dear Parents,
I would like to revisit a message I gave to students earlier in the academic year, which is about the importance of
having a real focus on learning and taking part in all the activities we offer at CISG. Education in the 21st century is
about learning in all its dimensions, as outlined in the Vision and Mission of CISG. For a successful year, a positive
focus on learning is essential. It is good to see students taking on all the challenges as well as enjoying the fun
activities at school.
Among the events taking place at CISG, I would like to congratulate the students for taking part this week in Model
United Nations, with the support and encouragement of the Assistant Principal, Ms Tasneem, and the Academic
Coordinator, Dr Nair. This is a high level event which places our students firmly up among the top students from the
best schools in Qatar. Well done to our students for their participation.
I would ask all parents to read carefully the Promotion Policy and all information about exams and retests to be fully
aware of this from the very start of the academic year. This will help to avoid any misunderstandings later in the
year. Full information is given in this Gazette. Please see below.
It is our vision to be a leading school in the Gulf Region and to help girls to develop their full potential intellectually,
physically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. Building on a legacy of distinction, it is our vision to serve as a model
for effective teaching and learning in a dynamic educational environment. We aim to help students to achieve their
maximum potential and to gain a love of lifelong learning. We want teachers to excel in pedagogy, stimulating young
minds and encouraging them to extend excellence beyond the classroom.

Future Engineers conference at Texas A&M and Model United Nations Conference by Georgetown.
Also Science dept had training and workshop with Dr Majda at CISG and at Weill Cornell.
We also had Inter Taleb Art, Debate and Qatar History event, Quran Competition, Qatar Environment Day, Visit
from Qatar Civil Defense, Sports Day, Day Camping among others.
The Student Engineers' Council at Texas A&M University at Qatar aimed at high school students of our school
and 9 delegates with Ms Akhila and Ms Teena participated at the event. The conference is tailored to introduce
graduating seniors to the world class engineering programs offered by Texas A&M University at Qatar and
allow them to explore the possibility of becoming a part of the Aggie family. FAME Conference becomes a
platform for the students to interact and actively participate in a variety of activities and workshops aimed at
inciting interest in STEM education and specifically in Texas A&M University at Qatar. CISG students became a
part of this such invaluable experience of a life time.
Over the past few years our students have been participating and doing extremely well being delegates of other
countries and bring in the skill of patience, diplomacy and different perspective and understanding to the
issue. This year GMUNs theme was Fostering development: Complexities of Intervention in a Globalised
world. This theme encompasses the state of the world today and urges young delegates to look into the future
and debate in different way. Delegates join in to and contribute to a dialogue and find possible solutions. Our
students have got this opportunity to learn various skills and be a confident global citizens of the world.
Our staff and students gave up their weekend and worked effortlessly and tirelessly to attend these events.

Dear Parents,
Kindergarten children are taking part in many practical activities to reinforce various
concepts in learning. We are in the eighth week of term 2. Our kindergarten children are
taking on a more proactive stand in day to day activities. They are focusing on their
strengths and learning skills. It is very rewarding and helpful especially when parents get to
know what their children are doing.
Our corridor displays are vibrant and very stimulating. As our learning journey continues,
children are learning the phonic sounds of the alphabet using the Jolly Phonics, an
enjoyable multi-sensory approach to teach the letter sounds.
We also had a wonderful, fantastic trip to Souq Wagif Theater to watch a live show on
Jack and the Beanstalk. Children and staff were awe struck with the performance and
they behaved well and sat through the show very patiently.
Please check your childs planner and also encourage them to finish the homework.
Thanks to the parents who are already helping their children with homework.
Sincerely,
Seema Jaffer
Head of Kindergarten
