Description of the artifact and how it meets the standard and criteria:

The artifact that I chose to include to demonstrate my competency for standard 4D is a


desert island group project that I have the students do. The project is based around
different forms of government. The students have to create their own form of
government working together. This meets the standard because they work in a group of
their peers that will help with social, emotional, and academic growth.

Reflection on the artifact:

This is a project that I love having the students do because it really forces them to work
together and come to an agreement. The students need to come up with laws,
punishments, norms of the society, pretty much everything that a government would
handle. I find that it really shows the growth/development of certain students based on
how they react not only to each other but also to this hypothetical community they are
creating.
