Question 4:Design the Op-amp circuit using integrator and adder circuits, = , V= 5V
at t = 0.

Reference: Operational Amplifier and Liner Integrated Circuit R. Coughling

Solution: 4
Since, V = 5V, so differentiating
a constant term would result
zero d(5)/dt = o
So, finally we need to implement
= ,

Describe the under excitation and over excitation of synchronous motor. Give name
of two synchronous motor without rotor excitation.
of two synchronous motor without rotor excitation.

Solution: 8
Consider the following figure

Notice that as the value of EA increases, the magnitude of the armature current I
increases, the magnitude of the armature current IA first decreases
first decreases
and then increases again. At low EA, armature current is lagging, and the motor is an inductive
load. It is acting like an inductor- resistor combination, consuming reactive power Q. As the field
resistor combination, consuming reactive power Q. As the field
current is increased the armature current eventually lines up with V, and the motor looks
purely resistive. As the field current is increased further, the armature current becomes leading,
ly resistive. As the field current is increased further, the armature current becomes leading,

and the motor becomes a capacitive load. It is now acting like a capacitor- resistor combination,
consuming negative reactive power Q or, alternatively, supplying reactive power Q to the
system.
